I am still in my freshman year of this university of Life. I have taken all of my prerequisites and finishing up my electives. I have failed a few classes and passed others with flying colors, average in none of them. I am a complexity, wrapped in a puzzle, boxed in Escher's Relativity, and finally dipped in a sugary paradox. I am the definition of multi-faceted, but you may wish to use your opinion of me to say that I am a contradiction. However, I assure you that I am often belied in this light due to a negligent circumstance--people don't know me...
I am a man beyond my years, or with an old soul, if you choose to say, or so I am told, but I don't think of it that way. I am a great observer, a destitute philosopher, if you will. Trust me when I say that I have lived, in my almost 25 years, much more than a lot of people have lived in their lives. It is not from the places I have been, or the things I have only seen, but, rather, I have had the experiences. I have been in the places parents hide from their children, albeit against my will. I've also been where people wish they could go. Life is funny that way, and if there is a higher spiritual being-- whether you call him God, Jehovah, Allah, or otherwise-- I am quite sure now that he is not without a sense of humor.
I guess that leaves me at my final word. As I am not as great with words as those I consider my contemporaries, I'll leave you with a quote, that I may change often, depending on my mood:
"I adore simple pleasures. They are the last refuge of the complex."
