at about 3 AM at Bootie on the Playa, John John woke us all the fuck up from a previous set of marginally danceable mashups. The dance floor (a dusty lakebed) came alive like dead folks suddenly resurrected - to the best party they've ever been to.

So hello after a long absence.? BM was a trial - horrible dust storms, infrastructure disasters, and an enormous amount of work I hadn't counted on.? Did I mention the Bar? ? Each year we produce the Slow Burn Lounge - a big bar under a massive tent with a bunch of couches, sometimes a piano, and always music.? Have been running arouind collecting 15" and 17" lcd monitors (4 by 5 format - so very 2002) for my art project. Since DVI video has supplanted SVGA, the SVGA equipment has become dirt cheap - perfect for art on the cheap.? Having acquired a signal splitter and eight 25 foot monitor cables, the Fandango bar willbe graced with a streaming video project - to be unveiled only at the Burn.? Burning Man is also fondly referred to among my people as "The BFCT", or, "The Big Fucking Camping Trip".

Soooo..., we got our Burning Man placement today: Coral Reef and 8:00. Fandango Village has been allocated 200,000 square feet! If you're there, do drop into the Slow Burn Lounge - our 24hour bar. I'll be with subcamps "Dead Hooker Taint" (SF) and "Squircle" (LA). The absinthe should be flowing liberally. Oh, and the Slow Burn Lounge has a rule: no visible cock on guys - ; so cover it up, gents. (This does not mean that merely a long shirt hanging over it will do, though kilts and dresses are fine). Alas - so many days have passed since I submitted photographs. I bopped around the forums (interesting), and chatrooms (some very clique-y, some less so), and read many dozens of profiles. I'm trying to understand the dynamics of this place: although this is a distilled environment of like-minded people, there seem to be lots of tourists and lots of people that are treating this like an a MMORPG. I'm not here to play - I'm here to meet. I suppose if I weren't looking, wouldn't be here.
