If 'almost' is a flavor of no and of failure, 'it worked for a while' is surely a kind of success.

There is no forever.  Your life, my life, any life, life itself is only for a while.  Bodies break down, ideas break down, stars break down, probably even time itself.

Having something that works is pure upside.

It might not last as long as we would want it to, but what does?

I have begun to use this site's Hide User feature.

There are a lot of worthwhile girls out there, but also scammers without the grace to to at least post hot pictures of other people, profiles that annoy me, and women who aren't who they think they are.

It's become a lonelier site, yet clarity offers a comfort all its own.

There seem to be a lot of almosts in the world:

Things that almost work, that almost happen, that almost come together, except for a trick of timing, a glitch in the system, the lack of that little bit of extra effort or reach (and sometimes this is the right choice), or just plain luck.

But no.  Almost is a soft way of saying no.  Almost what I want is not what I want.  Almost a winner is not a winner.  Almost got killed in car crash means didn't get killed in a car crash.

I  just accrued my very first Internet stalker!  What a way to start the new year. :)

...but still insufficient.

Mindful > Mindless

Last week I went on a nice and normal date with a nice and normal girl, and I remembered in my bones how much I must have something else.

The "Interests" section has no entry for biting.  Strange, that.  Nor for sex without permission, casual brutality or other such things that are likely to occur within the context of a healthy relationship.  Nor is there a way to add "Owns more than one cat" or "Snores loudly" as Hard Limits.

Just saying.
