Where to begin... I'm pretty new to the lifestyle. I've always been the caretaker type since before I knew what a Daddy or Master was; I liked being called Daddy in a sexual context, and then I realized that being called Daddy, and actually taking care of someone like a Daddy would, made me part of an astonishingly larger community than I'd imagined (read: I thought it was just me).
In day to day life I'm fairly mild-mannered, and have a long fuse. I work as a manager so I spend most of my days trying to convince people to do things they should already be doing anyway; imagine my surprise to find out there's a community of people who WANT to be instructed, led, or controlled!
I struggle with the discipline aspect of being dominant. At the risk of psychoanalyzing myself out of new friends, I grew up in a household where I was taught to respect the opinions of women, etc... which is excellent, and progressive, and good! It also makes it a little difficult to take that hat off after nearly 30 years of thinking just one way, though. That said, I like the idea of a woman willingly submitting to the will of a man. Not because she's inferior, or because she isn't capable on her own, but because she chooses to do so. That level of trust is beautiful to me.
