We're given our paths and sent on our way
to discover ourselves with each passing day.
Some pass through fields or venture steep cliffs,
as ships set to sea, or rafts set adrift.

While some stand guarded, unable to grow
others have traveled barefoot in the snow.
The flurries can blind you obstructing your sight,
casting shadows then darkness, and falling to night.

If it's stars you desire, I'd shoot down for you
and sweep the grey clouds to keep your skies blue.
If unsure of the path when the night's dark and cold
I'd shine down as moonlight, bask you in my glow.

If you seek a companion, I'd offer my hand.
and when days test your will, beside you I'd stand.
If you feel love escapes you with each day you start
then believe in yourself, it exists in your heart.

As you enter dream state I float down through the night and materialize like a soft breeze overtakes the leaves outside your window. The wind is rhythmic as the next breeze follows the first, like gentle waves crashing on the beach. I am present. In your mind you've captured my scent, you can hear my voice, and feel my hands again. your senses heighten as you visualize past events. you find comfort in your desire, knowing you have pleased. Feeling spent, your flesh begins to tingle as sensitivity returns. It brings a sting, tenderness, and that indescribable warmth. you can still hear the resounding clap of skin on skin, the deafening crack of leather, the pounding repetition as the moans and obscenities flow, and the fullness in your belly as the night has it's turn to take you now. you look forward to inspecting your new marks in the morning, hoping a bruise will form to serve as a pleasant reminder, a badge. Back in my presence I grasp your leash, your umbilical tethered. I walk with purpose as you finally drift off. Like a balloon losing helium, occasionally scraping the ground. I give the cord a slight tug and you rise up again to follow me.
