In a couple of weeks I will observe 11 years of being in this lifestyle. In that time I've met alot of people, seen and done some amazing things, and made some really great friends along the way. However, I find myself wondering what is a Master without a slave or a slave without a Master. Can we truly fit those roles within ourselves without having the essential other part of the puzzle? I understand people with a slave heart and a Master heart, people who are truly snd wonderfully wired this way- but even for them, how do you cope when you cannot find the yin to your yang? Just thinking outloud..

I've been on collarme for a little over a month now and one thing I noticed was a lot of people are searching for someone who is "real". It makes me wonder exactly what their defintions of "real" are. My definition is someone that is true to themselves, true with themselves and projects this honesty to whomever they meet. Years ago I met someone who said I wasn't a real lifestyler because (and I'm serious here) I didn't wear 4 inch high heels and corsets 24/7. He was dead serious, this was his defintion of a real Domme. I remember telling him that we didn't define the lifestyle by the same terms and he would probably be better off conversing with someone else. I wonder how many people on here fit my definition and how many people's definition is closer to that person I knew so long ago. *shrugs* Just late night food for thought.
