Looking to make new friends in Manchester..

I am a well educated, well travelled intelligent woman. I am attractive, relatively slim, honest and down to earth (well, when the times suit!).
I've been on and around the scene for some time and I've had some fantastic experiences as well as some I would rather put far behind me – but that's life right? So why am I still here and looking? For now, I'm looking for friendship. But eventually, like most other women, I want a long term relationship with someone who will be my friend and my lover.
I am basically hoping to have a 'normal' relationship with someone who just happens to enjoy dominant activities. I am not after 24/7, I have little desire to be told what to do outside of the bedroom, I am not a slave and I have a fiery assertive personality on the outside!
To call myself submissive would be too restrictive a definition, and bottom too simplistic. I would say I am an adventurous imaginative kinkster, who prefers to be on the receiving end.
I know my own mind and I speak it. TIME, time to get to know me and understand me before getting into BDSM is essential. I love being tied up. Experience in this area is not essential but a passion is.
I have many more BDSM interests but I care not to elaborate here....
I also have a life outside of BDSM and I think that's really important as well; yoga, walking in the country, alternative music, going to festivals, gigs, organic food, cooking (I'm not a "hippy"), gardening, camping, personal spirituality (No seriously, I'm not! I prefer individual!), travelling and reading books.
I am a huge muso, here are just a few of the bands that I like in no particular order. Muse, Placebo, Queens of the Stone Age, Tori Amos, Radiohead, The Pixies, Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, A Perfect Circle, Dredg, Pink Floyd, The Smashing Pumpkins, Andrew Bird, Cimematic Orchestra, , Porcupine Tree, Kings of Leon, Editors and many many more!
So what don't I want...? (ie if you fit these I'm sorry but I know from experience of myself that I won't be interested – no offense intended)
Couples/poly – It's just an emotional minefield that I'm not interested in – even if both people say it’s alright. It's not for me.

Well fella's you can't complain about no one being real on here if you are not prepared to go to events which DO HAVE REAL PEOPLE AT THEM.
Are you all just scared to show your face in public? Do you have something to hide? Most BDSM happens in private anyway so are you afraid that someone in the community might catch you out??

I love some people on here. A guy who contacted me 3 years ago had recently decided to contact me again. He witheld his number. Eventually he gave me his number but kept on giving me different reasons as to why he could not meet me. Oh I am away with work. Oh I am going on holiday so it will have to wait.
He seemed very angry that I did not beleive he had any intention of meeting me, as he had done all of the chasing.
FUNNY THING IS.. as soon as i said we can still talk but I will not talk about BDSM or sex he disappered.
