Polar Bear
There was a Polar bear who was kept in a cage a mere 5 feet in diameter. Everyday she walked round and round in a circle within the parameter of her cage. She ate there. She slept there. She urinated and defecated there. One day a man from the Humane Society came and saw the Polar bear's plight. "Remove that cage so that poor Polar bear can roam freely!" declared the Humane Society man. The cage was removed. Now the Polar bear was free to wander in any direction she chose for as far as her vision could see, for as long as she cared to roam. Know what she did? She walked round and round within a 5 foot diameter. She ate there. She slept there. She urinated and defecated there. She was free, but never took advantage of it.
