Due to circumstances beyond my control (i.e. somebody offered me a job that I couldn't refuse!), I'm now living and working in wonderful Amsterdam :-)
Its great to be back in A'dam. The sadness at discovering that one of my favourite watering holes is no more was more than equalled by being introduced to an even better cafe in the locale :-) I'm also rembering just how much I hate tourists, who just keep getting in the way, especially when I'm trying to get somewhere important (like the headshop to get a new water pipe because my last one broke!).

So here I am visiting friends in wonderful Holland... close by is a tattoo & piercing shop, and instead of walking past it as I usually do when I'm here, I strolled in a decided to, finally, get inked.
The appointment was made, the deposit paid. At the appropriate time I returned. And then I left a bit later, inked, and very happy with the result.
And to answer the usual questions before they are asked: no it didn't hurt at all; its hard to describe, but it felt like being brushed by very weak stinging nettles; yes, I was surprised at how little it hurt; I've no idea if I will get any more.
And finally, sweet and deviant dreams to that special person (she knows who she is).
