About jocko1972

How does one begin to describe himself to others? I have found myself trying to decide how best to explain something as intensely personal as "who am I?", I am a Dom. I believe that a Dom has an innate responsibility to his submissives. That the trust placed in him cannot be abused. I don't see being a Dominant as an excuse to be a douche. I believe that a Dominant must see that he has been given a gift by his sub, and is certainly not an inherent right to act like an ass.

I believe that a Dom has a responsibility to forge a relationship with a submissive, and to strengthen them by way of that relationship. Not unlike a swordsmith working a piece of ore. (Another hobby of mine.) It should be a catharsis and a metamorphosis. Through this process both parties should learn more about themselves and one another.

I won't and cannot condone any play while someone is beyond control by the influence of either drugs or alcohol. This, to me, is a major violation of what I consider to be safe or moral.

I am never certain of what I should put in here, as I find it difficult to write about myself like a slave on an auction block.

Intelligence is the foundation to what I find attractive, I tend to skip down to references of films, authors, music, art before viewing photographs...if nothing entices me there, I generally move on.

I am interested in finding others that are as attracted to intelligence as I am, that is to say, if you find intelligence hot, then I'm your man. If not, we shouldn't waste each others time.

Paramount to me are open minds. If you are unable to debate issues and be open to changing your perceptions and views in light of varied discourse or perspectives, then we will not get along.

I am not a Liberal nor a Conservative.. I'm European. Born in Scotland, raised in Iceland, educated by the world. I identify more closely with Libertarians, but I also have disagreements with their policies to some degree. I guess I am truly an Independent and I keep myself informed on what is going on in our government.

I am a geek. An unabashed, proud and very outspoken geek. I am happy to go into great detail about my passionate geekdom upon request, but will save the general public the special torture that is me waxing poetic about being hardcore geek and fanboy. If you are not pro-geek, or do not find a shared interest in all things geeky, then: "[these] are not the [droids] you are looking for.".

I spent nine years in the military, two enlisted in the British military and seven as an officer in the US. It shaped me but does not define me.

I am a musician and a DJ...I consider both an extension of my soul...to listen to me is to know me. You have to "get" that.

I value honesty above all other things. If you cannot be honest with yourself, you cannot be honest with me. If that is an issue, feel free to look elsewhere.

I am not into those that are possessive or jealous. If you are, again, we shouldn't waste each others time.

Yes, I'm particular. But, I've been doing this long enough to know what I am looking for. I will not settle for less, and I no longer feel like undertaking quixotic endeavors to press a personality to my liking. I have neither the desire nor the time to do that.

Please feel free to ask any and all questions. But be mindful of the things I've mentioned here.

Remember:

"There is a 2000 pound Gorilla in the room..."

"A peace is of the nature of a conquest; for then both parties nobly are subdued, and neither party loser." William Shakespeare

"Canada is the essence of not being. Not English, not American, it is the mathematic of not being. And a subtle flavour - we're more like celery as a flavour." Mike Myers

"All, all is theft, all is unceasing and rigorous competition in nature; the desire to make off with the substance of others is the foremost - the most legitimate - passion nature has bred into us and, without doubt, the most agreeable one." Marquis de Sade

"A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." Douglas Adams

"Chaos is the score upon which reality is written." Henry Miller

"A truly good book teaches me better than to read it. I must soon lay it down, and commence living on its hint. What I began by reading, I must finish by acting." Henry David Thoreau

"Heart and head are the constituent parts of character; temperament has almost nothing to do with it, and, therefore, character is dependent upon education, and is susceptible of being corrected and improved." Giacomo Casanova

Music:

Bowie, Queen, Peter Gabriel...Ska, Punk, House, Industrial, 80s music, classical music, swing/Big Band, many others.

I am a voracious reader, and can usually be found with a book. Tolkien, Herbert, Adams, Asimov and Shakespeare are among my favourites.
