About i4thesublime
I am an evolving fetish photographer. My interest stems from being a devout fetishist and a reasonably accomplished photographer. Some of my most interesting work fits loosely into environmental portraiture with an image and prose spin on it. If you're somewhat serious about working with me, I'll be happy to show it to you. It has been widely exhibited and I am cautiously hopeful that it may someday evolve into book form.
My primary reason for being here is to meet people and perhaps line up interesting projects. I do not charge for my time; I make far more money doing other things than I could really hope to make as a photographer.
So, the limited time I have for this is directed towards the most interesting shoots - and towards people to whom I feel an affinity. Proximity helps too. I do travel regularly to San Diego LA, and OC, but the closer you are to San Francisco the easier it is to just grab some gear and get creative.
I have a number of themes I am interested in exploring in this work, but I am quite flexible in taking input, running with a whim, seeing where things lead. I also have an abiding respect for the idea that a model is not a prop, that what makes an image soul rending is its humanity not its technical execution.
I am also sensitive to your motivations and concerns, whatever they may be. I am willing to discuss anything you might be interested in. I am perfectly happy generating promo material for Pro Dommes, for example, provided that we can explore the unconventional after we knock off a few nice stock shots. I am also interested in working with submissives, particularly in artistic bondage or fetish and costume work. I adore all roleplayers and theatrical types.
I have mixed feelings about photo stories and linear constructs. If this is what you think you're after, be prepared for a tussle as I try to abstract and reduce to essence. I think it takes a subtle infusion of ambiguity to get into a viewers head and stick there.
Finally, here are a few practical things: 1) I am an experienced switch with almost 20 years of light exposure to the community. 2) There is an 80/20 bottom/top split to my experience, but I think I can bring an appropriate perspective and energy to most shoots. 3) I am married and not looking for play partners per se; my wife is aware of this work and sometimes enjoys art directing (she is a bi switch).
