I'm a twenty-nine year old (almost exclusively) straight male; as well as a recently graduated doctor.
I've a passion for beer, tea, coffee and a few other delicious things. I like strong and spicy (as in spices, not as in chilli; although yes, I eat pretty hot also) flavors and love to cook many things, from Indian curries to French Onion Soup, and several desserts like Cheesecakes, Kuchen, and other stuff.
I love reading, albeit I don't generally get much time to do so. Saying I'm a literary bulimic might be an apt deion: I cycle through periods of not reading anything and those where I'll read several books a month. Most of what I read is fiction of one kind or another, I particularly prefer Science fiction, high fantasy, alternate history or historic fantasy, and some other things like a bit of mystery, horror, etc.
Perhaps my favorite authors would be a good indicator: I love Frank Herbert, almost anything by Poul Anderson and Neil Gaiman. I've also particularly enjoyed some of David Weber's sagas (I loved Dahak), as well as Cristopher Anvil's Pandora stories, among many others.
In music I'm quite eclectic, going from Rock, Heavy Metal and derivatives (
not much a fan of Death Metal, Black Metal and the like: I much prefer my vocals clean. Rob Halford, not James Hetfield. Messiah Marcolin, not Chuck Schuldiner. Kim McAuliffe, not Angela Gossow... you get the idea...) going to things like smooth Jazz (Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Eva Cassidy, some Sinatra, Nancy Wilson, etc etc.) to Celtic music (Celtic Woman, Luar Na Lubre, among others), Irish folk like The Dubliners, other sorts of folk music; Silk Road Project, Yamato Ensemble, Flairck. And of course, a fair share of musicals, a couple Operas, and several amazing soundtracks.
I am rabidly curious; I like trying new things in pretty much any context, I often feel a need to challenge the establish way of doing things just because, especially when said way is only established by way of custom rather than particular arguments.
I am quite liberal, I hate discrimination of any sort and strive to not do any myself. I think everything is relative, and open to discussion, and on that note, I love arguing just for the sake of argument... even more so if I can learn something from the discussion.
I took an interest in BDSM a couple years ago while still on a committed relationship with an ex; we dabbled in a couple things here and there but mostly as a couple vanillas trying kinky stuff out. About then I realized that I am definitely a kinkster, and after we broke up I kept looking into the issue. Eventually I found the local community and began attending a couple events, at first exclusively to chat and watch, later a little more active. I respect all choices and lifestyles but myself rather see BDSM as an amazing way to freely express my sexuality and deviance from the social norm. I also have a strong appreciation for its aesthetic aspect, but do not really see it as a lifestyle. Partly because of this, I consider myself a Switch. I like both being a top and a bottom, and also something in-between. I think all relationships (and especially assymetrical ones like BDSM matters often are) must be firmly rooted in equality, respect and trust. I don't think I could ever enjoy a 24/7 BDSM relationship in any role.
As for my experiences and tastes regarding kink, you can take a look at my list of interests and, if still in doubt, are more than welcome to ask. I not only don't bite (unless asked, of course) but rather enjoy answering questions and will only very rarely leave one unanswered.
I'm looking to meet people (preferably around my area, but I don't really mind talking to anybody else as long as they're intelligent and can make a good conversation); for... anything, really.
