One of my favorite mediums has now become fire. The dance of the flame is just so alluring to me. Some call it edge play while others choose to argue it. I find them both to be true.
Is it safe?
I hate the term safe. It lends to a false sense of security. People tend to get sloppy and overlook things when they view it as safe. It is as safe as what the person doing it can control. Luckily I have developed enough knowledge to keep it controlled and prepare for when it isn't. It is the preparations that lead it to to be considered safe. Although I don't fear fire, I still have a profound respect for it. I know what it is capable of. I will tell you not to be afraid to try it, but make sure you know who you are playing with. Ask questions and do research on them. I can promise you that there are so few of us out there that some one in the local community knows who we are. Do your research.
I perform with fire outside of the lifestyle as well. It was my experience spinning and breathing fire that lead to my love flirtation and now infatuation with fire play. My performances has given me knowledge of fuels and how they burn. It has also hammered "safety" controls into my head and laid the foundation to bring sensation and edge play through fire.
