As people age, they wonder why time seems to move so much faster. It is just another aspect of relativity.
When we're ten, a year represents 10% of our life. When we're 50, it is only 2%. Naturally time "moves faster" - it represents a constantly decreasing portion of our life, and ultimately, that is our yardstick. |

Things such as "year end" are merely man-made constructs. It doesn't really represent a closing of the books. What matters is what endures. |

The end of another year. Thank you pet, you have made it easier to get through. |

There is a martial arts phrase - "live as one already dead." It means live in the moment without worrying what might be, or what posterity might think. It allows one to concentrate all your energies, all your focus on what is immediately before you, concentrating you qi to break the boards that are in front of you. |

Why do people expect to be listed as friends when they have told you nothing about themselves? |

Live in the now, not the past, not the future.
The past is over - it cannot be changed. You can see what you have done that worked, or didn't, and learn from it, but never let it take you over.
The future is not something you can plan. It is the result of the decisions of more than 6 billion people. All you can do is live as best you can in the present and hope for the best. |

Nothing stands still. Things are either growing, or dying; moving forward or moving backwards.
I am blessed in that I have been able to watch so many things grow. There is such as thing as being a gardener of the human spirit. |

I always find it amusing the number of people who run multiple profiles. The best are the ones where they have the same picture under different profiles and pretend they aren't the same person.
Then again, I believe it was P.T. Barnum who said no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the public... |

Expectations can be strange things. On one hand, "special" events often seem to fall flat - probably due to the fact that imagination screens out all the nagging little elements of real life.
By the same token, the little things, the ongoing, just grows warmer by the day.
Moral of the story - concentrate on the little things - they matter the most in the end. |
|

Inertia can be a curse, but also a blessing. Once set on a path, it is easier to continue, and improve, than to stagnate.
Ultimately, you can walk through walls. |

A long time between posts. Running down the the end of a year. Overall, a very positive one. Happy New Year to all, and may you find your dreams in the New Year |

It seems the universe is becoming unconstipated again. I see people in motion - some finding partners, some losing partners, some reinventing themselves.
It must be the change in seasons. Or just sap rising. |

The reason "truth is stranger than fiction" is that, unlike the novelist, God never has to worry about the credulity of His audience. |

This has always struck me curiously. Why are there so many profiles where the sub has the job of finding another sub for her dom?
The optimist in me says it is because the dom wants to assure any potential new sub that everything is above board, and that the first sub has some input into the process.
The pessimist in me says it is because the dom is either lazy or thinks his sub can find a "better class" of sub that he can.
Is the glass half empty, or half full? |

Rant ahead, driven by watching several people disappear into the every tightening circle that leads up their own posterior chasing the notion of an "on line" life:
Live in the real world! Why do so many people fall prey to the trap of thinking that what they do, how they "exist" online matters?
Ultimately, what you do, say, present, online only matters if it is converted into something in the real world. An "on line life" with its Junior High interpersonal dynamics is nothing more than a black hole that will absorb any energy you are foolishly willing to pour into it.
Live! It is so much more interesting. |

Ah, the Winter Flea is almost here, and due to other committments, I can't go this year - Damn.
Nonetheless, to all my friends and aquaintances who will be there - As Abraham Lincoln said in "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" - "Party on Dudes, and be Excellent to one another!" |

To my friends, aquaintances and casual observers, a Happy New Year. May it bring you wonders you have never before experienced, thrills and chills and leave you better than the year before. And let us all resolve to bring a little touch of civility back to the 'net. Lord knows, it needs it.
Cheers |

At what age did snow become a burden? It must be during those teen years of upheaval, linked to when we start taking on more responsibilities - "shovel the driveway" rather than "let's build a snow fort", or "no you can't have the car in this weather" instead of "no school today".
I don't care. I'm going to go make snow angels.

I was asked, what is the one thing a sub must have? Ultimately, it is the ability to captivate - howsoever she does. For some, it may be the intensity of their submission, for others their wit, for still others their beauty. Regardless, there must be a reason that you want to return. I think every sub has the nacent ability to captivate - just not every dom, or every time. |

I was asked if I thought a dom was "better" than a sub. I find people tend to look at the whole dom/sub relationship in one of two ways:
First, there are those who think "over/under" - that the dom, being on top, is better, wiser, and ought to control the sub, who is lesser in the relationship.
Second, there are those who view it as a "yin/yang" - that they are symbiotic and complementary - that the dom can't be dom without the sub and vice versa.
I think both exist, and both are valid, depending on the people involved. There isn't one right answer. But... it's something that needs to be addressed as relationships develop - if the partners are stongly in different camps, it will probably work no better than "converting" a vanilla. |
|

|
|
I was asked if I was a sadist. I had to answer "no", because it was too limiting. I don't get excited by a sub's pain, per se. I want her emotions - all of them. It isn't the pain that gives thrills - it's the emotions that flow - whether from pain, pleasure, or even being told she is a "good girl," and knowing that I can give her those emotions. |
|
|
|
|
I was asked what I thought about a submissive's tears.
I said they let me know that I had reached her core - that I have released something inside her. If I could, I would capture them to use instead of water with my whisky, and then I would hold her, and comfort her, and let her know she was safe, revealing herself to me. |
