Isn't it interesting to see beginnings and ends?

Imagine a child, eager for love, approval and cuddles.  Instead he or she experiences judgment, intolerance, discipline and either consistently negative or random interaction.

He or she grows up associating such treatment as transactions of love and goes off seeking similar, hopefully with better esteem, respect, acceptance, etc.

In that milieu, with others of the same background, seeking others of the same background, should that person be:

Judgmental, stern, intolerant with a long list of what is unacceptable, quick to shout, quick to doubt, slow to try anything new?

Compassionate, tolerant, open to everything, with graceful definitions of aspirations & polite defences?

I can clearly see what the majority of people on this site feel they should be and do.
