I'm a well-educated, English, and currently living in London but moving to LA some time in the next year. I've had enough experience to know that I prefer real-life BDSM to fantasy. But although I've been involved with the BDSM scene in one way or another for 10 years now, I've found it's rare to meet truly likeminded people, and have only had one experience of submission in a long-term relationship. I'll describe my idea of a good partnership, and some of the things that I enjoy and value, in the hope that someone will read them and 'click'! That said, I have very few preconceptions so this is just a vague idea. Whilst BDSM is important, there is much more to life and to be in a relationship that exists entirely in BDSM-mode would be impossible for me. I'd like to find someone who shares this view. In many ways I have quite a 'gothic' outlook but don't go in for 'goth' clothes and music at all. I love films, especially cult movies, dark intelligent chillers, b-movies.... I love good food, and I make a lot of the things I like, eg sushi and italian food... I have lots of friends in Amsterdam and go there often (used to live there), and in general I love European cities! I'm into art and music in a big way, and make my living from both! More on that later..... When it comes to BDSM, there are certain key things that turn me on, but the main one is really pleasing and turning on my partner. Restraint, collars, chastity and even more extreme things all have their appeal, but for the basics of power exchange to really work I think there has to be plenty of trust, respect, love and communication between both partners. Well, I've learnt that this is a tall order, but I also know that there are people out there who are looking for a relationship where serious BDSM can be explored along with life's other pleasures.
