I have been thinking alot about the correlation between pleasure and pain. Why is it that some women strive for pain while others flee from it with great haste. I also wonder why those who strive for pain seem to be more alive and more expressive with their feelings then those who shun from it. As I continue to ponder on these things. Other concepts surface. Pain and pleasure and adversly porportional and complimentary. We already know they are opposites. Completely different ends of the spectrum. Then it occured to me.. Both are required for either to be felt. How do you know what pleasure is unless you know what pain is. An understanding of one cannot be achieved without the understanding of the other. So I believe that some seek out pain in order to know its equal counterpart. Most things considered valuable or pleasant had pain connected in some way. A womans first sexual experience, the breaking of the hymen suffer pain the first time yet attempt a second and soon, a liking for sex. It is well known that a woman suffers great pain at childbirth and yet some seex to repeat the experience for another child. so perhaps the relationship is equally balanced.. to know pleasure, you must know pain.. to know great pleasure, you must know great pain. Respiration becomes increased. Skin sensitivity increases, Because of this, My line theory falls short for pain and pleasure are actually concepts of the mind and not of the body.
