So I've spent a little while browsing around this site, and I feel that the most important thing that I have to do is to apologise on behalf of my gender. I'm, basically, appalled.
Originally I would have thought that the following would go without saying.
But now I'm sad to realise that it probably needs said.
Should I say hello to you, or you say hello to me, and we engage each other in conversation, here's how it will probably work. We're two people. Actual living people, with lives crammed full of stuff, with thoughts and feelings and opinions and loves and disgusts. We both feel the ground under our feet when we stand on it! So we get to know each other, as people. Whether that touches on, or delves into, relationship type stuff on any level, or doesn't, is neither here nor there. We're all people, aren't we? If we get to talking about that stuff, cool. If we don't, cool. Cool?
It's completely depressing to have to say it, but from the little reading I've done, it would appear that the vast majority of my gender aren't au fait with basic concepts of human respect. Blah.
Anyway. Should you make the choice to engage with me, who would you find? If I have to sell myself, I might say that I'm thoughtful, of reasonable intelligence, engaged with the world around me, eyes open, alert. Of a left / environmental leaning. Fortunate enough to have as stable a job path as available at the moment. With interests in music (listening, creating, formerly gig promoting), books, film, current affairs, political engagement, all that.
Those are the headlines, anyway. I enjoy other people immensely, and welcome new friends, or new anything.
