I am 55 years old and recently divorced and have been involved and interested in the lifestyle most of my adult life
Most of my 20s and 30s were spent experimenting and learning and it led me to the point of realizing that I was interested in and wanted a D/s or even an M/s relationship
Unfortunately, there were few of the resources back then that the community has now and finding a sub interested in a similar lifestyle and with whom I also had shared interests with was very difficult
Back then, I oscillated between finding vanilla girlfriends and trying to introduce them to kink, typically with bad results and finding girlfriends on BDSM personal websites
For the vanilla girlfriends for whom my introductions resulted in interest and curiosity it was always the case that their desires were much more limited than mine
For the women that I met on BDSM personal sites, the kink and desire to explore Ds existed but found that other necessary aspects of a relationship were missing intelligence, common interests, shared goals and desires
I ended up marrying one of the vanilla women that was interested in exploring kink that I had fallen in love with understanding that D/s would not be a significant part of our relationship After kids entered the picture, she decided she no longer wanted kink in her life and it resulted in resentment and hurt feelings all around I also realized that D/s was something that was important to me We ended up staying together for the kids until they got older and separated over 2 years ago
I have continued to read and explore my thoughts on D/s and understand my kinks and desires and am looking for the relationship that I should have held out for when I was in my 30s I am a professional, currently live in the western suburbs of Chicago, though grew up in the city and am a city kid at heart
