About deoiridh

Recent transplant to a mid-sized city in New York State. Looking to converse with people who are like minded. Not seeking a partner, a play pal, or friend with benny's.

About me: I was introduced to this 'lifestyle' when I was 23---The best part of my journey was discovering it never was a lifestyle to begin with. I must choose a label here---I picked submissive because I am meek---most of the time. Please Collar Me Gods---drop the labels or at least expand them to include 99% vanilla 1% masochist.

I am about 1% masochist, and I say this because I don't crave or desire SM on a regular basis and when I do play I am extremely fussy about who I play with. Currently there is only one I'd play with anyways---a man who is skilled with his tools and understands that for me it's a sensation fetish and not typically a sexual turn on.

I am 99% vanilla which means, I do things in a boring vanilla way just like most of the rest of the world. I work a job I don't mind doing, it pays the bills and on average I talk to 300 plus people every week, I volunteer and will do so Christmas morning preparing a meal for the homeless while everyone else is still in their jammies (k guess that is not average), I clean my apartment on a regular basis and enjoy doing it, I have pets, one offspring left at home who is pretty much the center of my life now right ahead of the grandoffspring who delights me when she screams, "Nannie" when she hears my voice on the phone, I play silly computer games, watch "How clean is your house", and spend times with my special friends. I eat right most of the time, but sometimes crave something gross like Chef Boyardee Spaghetti and meat balls. I support myself, own a vehicle which I seldom drive because every place I need to go is in walking distance (that rapid six block walk home after work when it's cold wakes me up and keeps me in shape), I hate material things and love having next to nothing as it keeps the clutter down.

I am agnostic, but my morals, my sense of spirtuality, my kind heart and forgiving nature make me appear to a bible thumper. Shudders! The lifestyle I akin to religion seeing it almost as a way of life that many adapt to almost blindly, not quite understanding it all, but believing in it out of pure faith because it's simply become something familiar that they are unable to live without. Belonging is extremely important to many and defending that right to belong becomes a quest or journey in itself.

Anyway, after many years of defending my lifestyle, I've learned that honestly no one really cares and I grew weary. I soul searched, got real honest with myself, kept those elements I enjoyed for my own reasons and tossed the rest. I no longer defend who I am or what I believe, I just live.

To me life is a journey, an awesome journey. I live for today and in the moment because I never know what is around the bend and I prepare for the unexpected, then I can move foward without wondering what to do next.

With that said, why am I here. Simply because I enjoy people. I like reading the forums because it makes me think but probably not in the way a poster desires me to think. I'm a people watcher, I do go to chat and mostly it's merely to watch but I can participate and will voice my thoughts if I feel the need, but forever showing tolerance to another persons thoughts (tolerance is lacking in most of these sites although it is preached that tolerance is practiced). I'm studied psychology almost obsessively in college, and I am still fascinated about how the brain is the most complex organ we possess. I like probing the brains. I am also a gifted psychic. I still can't figure out how or why it happened to me---but---I am right more often than not. When I do a reading and someone says, "I'm amazed!" I am probably even more amazed. Side note: I do not do personal readings-to predict lottery numbers, when you will find Mr/mrs Right. or when your new career will happen. We all have the ability to change our lives and no matter what any psychic tells you, you can ALWAYS make them out to be a liar. I am a sensative, most of the time I can see what is going on in your life past and present and from that predict an out come. It's totally up to you what you do with the prediction.

So if I've prev. your profile, I've simply found it interesting. (I love reading blogs!) As I said I AM a people person. If you have so kindly gotten this far reading my profile because you found it interesting or because I read yours and feel the need to message me, I'll more than likely send a response.

Just up front, I am not seeking, not handing out free psychic readings, (but don't mind sharing what I see on occasion) and I am not sending anyone that is 6'1 and weighs 61 pounds any money.

Christmas is approaching fast...and as stated in my profile I am agnostic.   With that said, I do participate in the holiday season.   I was raised christian but over the course of my life have become probably jaded about organized religion.   Christmas is one of those times that I really think about why I am so jaded about organized religion.

First, in my inner family, we often refer to Christmas as commerical holiday because quite honestly it is just a huge money maker.   However I reflect what the orginal meaning of Christmas is all about.    Isn't Christmas a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ?   If there was truly a Jesus, I must stop and think about how he would really want us to honor him and even if he wanted us to honor his birth at all.

Let us pretend that he did exsist and did want us to respectfully honor his day.   From what I remember about him, from the scriptures of the bible, I doubt very much that he would want anyone to trample another person on black Friday, attempting to get some material possession to give as a gift  because it is on sale.   I doubt very much he'd want anyone to become overwhelmed in January because the credit card bills were coming in and Christmas caused us to live beyond our means.   Would he see the need to spend $100 on a tree that has been cut down from a forest to drag into our homes, decorate and toss out after the new year?

Is our focus on the perfect gift, the most beautiful centerpiece, the most delicious meal, the most tastefully decorated house in the county?     Is our focus on watching the actions of others and focusing on what we don't have, and becoming depressed.    More suicides happen around the holidays than any other time of the year, is that because we have taken this time of year to be self centered and selfish?

If I had a dime for every person I encountered who suffered stress or depression around this time of year, I could probably feed a third world country for an entire year.

This is how I plan on spending the holiday season starting with Thanksgiving.    I've cleaned out my cupboards, taking those items which I have collected on sale and have an abundance of, checking to make sure they are not expired and donated them.    I make a special trip to the market to purchase items that I know I would want to find in a holiday basket if I were to get one, remembering the little people.    Somehow fun shaped mac and cheese tastes so much better than elbow mac and cheese when one is little.   I'll work Thanksgiving day and probably I could get it off but then someone else would have to work in my place and Mommy's are needed at home those days.    My offspring is older and not needing me as much.    Black Friday, we'll have pie and some traditional favorites, but most of all I WILL give thanks.   Thanks that I have a job, a roof over my head, heat, lights, food to prepare, and my health.

The time towards Christmas, I'll not stress.   Our gift giving is low key, it's never the more the merrier in this case.   The grandoffspring will obviously get the most but it's wicked fun to purchase things for her.    But still low key because she will love me whether I purchase one gift or a hundred gifts.

Since my shopping is done at this point, I'll count down to Christmas watching old reruns of Christmas specials, taking walks in the snow, ringing the bell for the Salvation Army with a smile and good cheer.    My daughter and I will decorate a purple $10 tree that we need to place on a stand put our handful of decorations on it simply for my grandchild's benefit.   The weekend before Christmas she'll come along with my adult children and we will have Christmas early; a meal, gifts and love for family.

I'll donate more food, some toys for tots, and just breeze through the 25 days of Christmas.    Christmas morning we'll get up early, donate our time at a shelter, come home open the gifts we have purchased for each other, then I'll trundle off to work, giving my time so another may have the day off.   In the back of my mind though, I'll wonder, what child got the gift I donated, what family ate the food I helped to contribute...what person appreciated the time I gave on Christmas morning.    I'll send them all my happy thoughts and hope that they will have a little peace this holiday season.    I will rejoice in all that I have been given and appreciate the small things that I normally take for granted.

I'll not be saddened that my adult children are grown and have left the nest and settled into their own lives.    I'll not be saddened that I can't afford the most expensive gifts.   I'll not stress because I don't have a cheesy blow up Rudolph in my yard.    I'll not feel sad because I don't have a partner to kiss under the mistletoe.

Instead I'll focus on all that is good all that is positive and share it with anyone that I can.   Tim said, "God bless us everyone."   Jimmy Stewart said, "I'm the richest man in town."   Virgina was told, "Yes there is a Santa Claus, he lives in our hearts."    And Linus said, "that's what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown."
