My take on what it means to be a Dom:

At heart I am someone of deep passion. That makes me go for the more primal side. The side of heat, and raw naked passion. I am a shaman with Wolf, The Old One, as my totem. Yes that makes me pagan. Through my studies I have found that same passion, that primal energy for life that a wolf has. They are one of the most social animals in the world. They love, they laugh, they mourn and in the end they mate.

There is no...guilt. No...regret. That has been trained into most humans when it comes to our sexuality.

I feel no guilt nor regret in bringing pleasure and joy to my partner, nor do I regret nor feel guilt when I let the primal energy out and have a night of rough wild sex.

I do also believe in romance as well. Of quiet dinners and soft candle light and gentle times in bed together.

It all comes down to Balance and what I see as the core of Free Will...Choice.

We have the Right to Choice whatever path, whatever decisions we want. We have the Responsibility of Choice, with the right to chose comes the responsibility to accept the consequence of those choices.

This what many people, even in the kink community fail to remember or even know.

That it is our choices and how we deal with the outcome that makes us who we are.

I chose to walk the path of passion and energy, of raw naked enjoyment in the act of sex and love. I balance that with a gentle nature and a disciplined mind.

Outside of a scene or within the boundaries or my relationships I am very much a Dom with a bit of Switch (If you can pin me down then you can take me as you wish, within limits). Outside and even inside of it I am a person of great compassion.

To me that is what makes a Dom a True Dom. To be able to have great compassion, and to give of him or herself to their partner. The partner gives the gift of trust. Trust that the Dom will not harm or abuse them, in return they wish to be given pleasure.

It is incidental, in my opinion, that a Dom finds pleasure in controlling the scene, the moment. For me the pleasure comes from working my partner up to the height of pleasure and giving them that release. To take that trust and use it to bring joy and fulfillment.
