For the time being, I've come to realize that I unfortunately don't have enough of myself left, after other commitments, to be the kind of friend/lover that I would have to be in order to feel good about the situation. Therefore, until things change and I feel less pressured, I'm open to friendships only.

I'm a novice submissive in a committed relationship with an experienced Dom I love very much... who unfortunately has severe back problems and chronic pain, which makes playing difficult. We're exploring various ways to work around that, but one possibility that came up was of my finding someone else to play with as well, with his blessings.
Being who I am, I'm not interested in one-night stands or a sex-only relationship - if we can't have a conversation outside the bedroom, then forget it. We need to be at least friends - and if it's more than friends and becomes a long-term stable poly relationship, we're both open to that - both my current partner and a new one need to like each other, but do not need to be sleeping together.
So as far as real-life, I'm looking for a woman, or maybe another couple involving a woman, that both my current partner and I can feel comfortable with - with the understanding that while he doesn't necessarily have to be involved (that's the problem!) I do reserve the right to have him present for scenes when my safety might be on the line, at least at first.
Alternatively, I'm always open to making friends, no matter where they are!
I'm extremely curious about my submissive side and have been waiting a depressingly long time to really explore it - I've been fascinated by bondage and power exchange for as long as I can remember, though I didn't recognize it for what it was until my late teens. A couple of partners since who claimed to be Dom turned out not to be as promised, which halted any exploration until I met my current partner three years ago. We were just getting off to a great start when his back deteriorated considerably. And, well, I love him and will never leave him, but can't just keep my sex drive on hold forever while we wait to see if treatment works.
Working in a mind-numbing (full-time, reasonable paying) job in a very conventional environment, combined with the lack of playtime at home, is frustrating.
Outside of kinky stuff: I live for fantasy/sf (books especially - big Tanya Huff and Mercedes Lackey fan, and I'm currently trying to sell my own first novel); love music; have a household of myself and my partner plus three spoiled cats, a hamster, a goldfish who won't stop growing, and a few snails; am ecclectic pagan (I guess that's the closest definition); and am fascinated by a variety of subjects I don't claim to be expert in, such as ancient history, animal behaviour, psychology and group dynamics, folklore and mythology, and anything else that catches my attention or that I need for research while writing.
Things I have no tolerance for are: For online friends, mostly stupidity, intolerance, hypocrisy, rudeness, and/or lying. In person, add recreational drugs, smoking, excessive alcohol, and poor personal hygeine to that.
So, anybody out there close to home (absolutely no long distance!) interested in talking? Or anyone in any part of the world interested in a possible friendship?
