I'm not directing this towards anyone in particular, not even just towards men, because I would guess that women do it just as much, but this has happened probably 3 times in the last 3 months to me.

I just don't get it. I'm not angry, just confused. So you message me, we chat, we set up a meet, and the day of the meet or the day before, you disappear. I'm not talking about ignoring initial messages, but an actual in person meet for coffee or a drink. As I always do, I send an email, IM or text the day of the meet to confirm, and I get no response.

Why make all the effort to chat with me, to set it up and then not bother? Why is it so hard to send an email or a text or an IM that just says "I changed my mind" or "I need to cancel and don't want to reschedule?"

What happened to basic courtesy?
