When it comes to the world of kink, I'm a man of theory, as opposed to a man of action. I've read just about every book I could find on the subject, I attended a Butchmanns Pansexual weekend, I've gone to Midori workshops and been to fetish dance nights and Fetish Balls.... but I have yet to take all that knowledge and theory and really PLAY with it. And after years of dipping my feet in the kink pool, retreating from it ("the water is SO COLD!"), returning to it, retreating yet again, I'm ready to say "To hell with wading!" and dive right in.
I just wanted to lay that out there up front. To use the pool metaphor again: I'm in the shallow end of the pool right now. If you're looking for Olympic-level swimmers, for both of our sakes, doggy-paddle past this profile and find someone better suited to team up with you and cross the English Channel.
And now, the "About Me" portion of the show!
About me (vanilla stuff): I'm a writer/actor. I do poetry readings, improv shows, and perform in plays in Phoenix. I'm a movie lover (if I could grow a vagina, I'd marry David Lynch in a heartbeat), a voracious reader and I love music (esp. ethereal and shoe-gazy music, but I dig rap, punk and disco too). I love dancing, karaoke, burlesque and going to stand-up comedy shows. I hate sea-food, I love philosophy and the occult, and my favorite Marx Brother is a toss-up between Groucho and Karl.
About me (kink stuff): I'm not fond of the term "Switch", but it was the best term available in the options. I prefer to think of myself as having an evolving/fluid sexual identity: I have strong masochistic tendencies, but I enjoy being sadistic as well. Power plays don't do a lot for me: I'm open to playing with dom/sub roles, but it's not something that is a huge deal to me. When I look in the mirror, I don't see "MASTER" or "SLAVE" tattooed on my forehead, and while I don't believe in saying never, I doubt I'll ever feel that strongly about either role. I like the freedom of putting on different hats. In Final Fantasy I terms: I'm the Red Mage. I may never be as potent in battle as the black mage or as helpful a healer as the White Mage, but I can do a bit of both, wield a sword and wear a dapper hat. I'm fine with that arrangement.
And finally, what I'm looking for:
Someone fun, someone who likes to get out of the house and see shows and dance and walk around, someone who isn't threatened by my occasional forays into cross-dressing (it doesn't mean I'll be your sissy boy and it isn't a red flag of repressed homosexuality, ladies), someone up for experimenting and shares my interest in trying on different hats. :)
