Rain cascades down on an open field, soaking everything it touches.
The sun peeks through the clouds, casting out the grey.
The rain still falls, but the rays of hope of a better day still shine through.
And somehow the grey bleakness of the rain has washed away my hope.
And I can see the faint rays through the clouds as what they are- a tease.
Clouds blanket the sky, heavy with more dreary rain.
The sunshine is completely gone now, leaving nothing but the monotony.
But still there is light on the horizon.
I watch as the light nears.
It's faint, this light.
And as it nears, I can see that the end of the rain in my heart is near.
Standing in front of me is my angel.
The light isn't coming from his skin, but his heart.
And his soft light touches mine and for the briefest moment I feel full.
My heart is full of love and joy, and the rain is gone now.
For the first time I feel complete.
And then I'm awoken from my wonderful dream into a world of grey rain.
Where is my light on the horizon when I need him most?
