'sensual sadist'
There is a big difference between "torture" and erotic sadism...
The distinction is largely one of control.
Any fool can pick up a simple stick, or a $500 whip, and beat somebody until they bleed, or cry "uncle" or fake an orgasm to make the fool go away. Does this make you a "true sadist"? In the strict definition, yes, if you enjoy it...
However, it takes a very different approach to be a "sensual sadist". The true sensualist wouldn't touch anything as crude as a stick or a whip... he would use his hands, or slowly add intense little devices, pausing frequently to savour the reaction, to enjoy the tears or pleading... perhaps even allowing a little respite, a moment of false hope, before resuming the buildup.
