Update: I left my finance job the end of 2013 after 19 years, and am renting out my place in NY to take 6-12 months off. I am travelling around New Zealand, Europe, South America and the US west coast, visiting family and friends. Happy to meet some guys along the way. If you are happy to host a visitor, let me know so that I can add an extra stop on my itinerary! Im only buying 1 way tickets. I will be pretty flexible and hope to meet some great people along the way as I look for something a bit more meaningful in my life other than banking. I have noted a rough tentative itinerary based on some "home bases" I have with family and friends. I love the thought of spending some time in Hawaii, Australia, Canada, Brazil, France, Spain, Turkey and Greece to do some hiking, sailing, skiing, scuba diving or other outdoor adventures. If you care to meet up there at some point and are looking for a travel buddy, or if you are able to host in any of these locations, I am sure we can have a lot more fun! I'm an accomplished professional of European origin. Lived throughout
Europe, the US, South America. In addition to traveling, I also like
to play tennis and squash, do yoga, ski, hike, and keep in shape. I
have great family and friends, but I hope one day to settle down with
someone special. I finally came out 3 years ago -- coming from a
sheltered, conservative background, and I have never been happier!
My first serious relationship with a man recently ended, and although
we ultimately were not meant to be together, it was an amazing
experience for me and I've grown and learned a lot about myself and
what I want to find in a potential partner.
I know that I am ready for a committed relationship with another
grounded, in-shape, confident, masculine, professional guy who enjoys
to be dominant behind closed doors... I love that kind of sexual
excitement and energy in a relationship which makes it much easier
keep it monogamous. I would prefer someone within several years of my
age, between 35 and 47. I tend to gravitate towards more grounded,
experienced guys.
The following are other important characteristics I look for:
1. 100% up front, assertive, and completely open and honest. I cannot
deal with any kind of deception.
2. Passionate - it's not about what you do, but you love giving it
your all, and enjoy doing it with a smile on your face and it reflects
in your successful career.
3. Grounded - I love visionary, but not having any kind of plan, or
not thinking about tomorrow does not work with me. I am attracted to
someone who I know can look after himself if I am not around. I also
need someone who walks the talk. For me, actions speak louder than
words.
4. Confident and happy with himself - someone who is not afraid to
deal with stressful situations and knows how to take charge of a
situation.
5. Adventurous - someone who wants to travel and enjoy all that life
has to offer. I have done most of the cultural trips around the world,
so I am more interested in adventure/nature trips -- hiking, skiing,
tennis, golf, scuba diving, rock climbing, paragliding, etc. If you
have some European/South American background, lived in abroad, or
traveled a bit, that would be great.
6. Takes care of themselves and enjoys sports. No smoking/drugs. It
would be a lot more fun to be able to enjoy sports together, and to
motivate each other to eat well and stay in shape. I really love yoga,
so it would be great to practice together!
7. Good communicator.
8. Most of all Kindness; someone whose kindness shines through his
eyes. I am very much a giver, but I am realy at my best with another
giver.
