Hello,

I consider myself to be part of the BDSM culture and identify as submissive and masochistic.

My background is in psychology and I am currently researching BDSM in Alberta. My hope is to produce a document that will help inform professionals (doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, etc.) about BDSM in Alberta.

I find that there is a lot of negative stereotyping about people who engage in BDSM and I am hoping to help eliminate some of the negativity by conducting research that uses participants that are involved in the lifestyle.

Most of the academic research that currently exits has used participants that are in therapy and are experiencing a lot of problems as a result of their sexuality and interests. I believe that this is an unrepresentative sample (it causes the reader to assume that all BDSMers have problems relating to their sexuality and interests)

Anyway, I am looking for participants, so if you are interested please feel free to contact me. I will be interviewing all participants and the interview will take approximately one hour.

For this study I am looking for,
People who identify as being involved in BDSM
People living in Alberta
People who are willing to provide me with one hours of their time
