If the slave has performed an action that is displeasing to her Master and requires punishment, it is His job to instruct her in the error of her ways, to provide her with the knowledge of the appropriate course of action, and to always be fair in His punishments. The most important components of any Master/slave relationship are communication, trust, and respect. She must communicate with Him so He knows when there is a problem, and can subsequently fix it. She must trust Him with her deepest darkest secrets, as well as the petty day to day occurences in her life, good or bad, He must know them all, without trust there can be no communication. In her trust, she can communicate, with both of those in place and functioning, respect is built.
