I believe that the D/s relationship is truly a deep mental and emotional bond. I am looking for someone who is willing to invest his time in getting to know me first. It is in that knowing that a D/s bond is formed which is beneficial to both individuals.

Keep searching for the one who "fits" with you. Each sub and Dom are, of course, individuals with different needs and wants and different styles. What will be the cost if I stop looking? What will be the rewards if I keep looking? No matter how long it might take in this tiny corner in which I live, each email, each IM, teaches me more about the lifestyle and about my submissiveness. Every life who touches mine, teaches me, if I am open to learn.

i have read some D's profiles/journals which state they think the idea of submissiveness being a gift is hogwash. how could one think this, i wonder? any positive experience, especially one as powerful as a meaningful D/s connection is a gift. from s to D, from D to s, and from the universe to both.

It was a favorite song of mine before I ever seriously considered this lifestyle. Although most likely not the meaning the author intended, I was just musing that perhaps one of the reasons I like it is because it speaks to the mental aspects of D/s for me. When I look into a Dominant's eyes I must feel the trust which allows me to let go of my boundaries because a Dom who earns my trust will know where heaven lies for me. Okay, so that's stretching it a little, but you get my meaning? and the song is "No Frontiers" by the Corrs.
