A compassionate Dom? I do not believe that those terms are mutually exclusive. To be dominant is not to restrict yourself to one dimensional behaviour. This does not mean that I am soft, but rather that I find that bluster and postering are not necessary, for my sub will understand me when she looks me in the eyes; she will willingly and freely give of herself and submit to me.
My enjoyment of BDSM does not focus on the destination of a certain activity, but rather in the journey of exploration into a sub's boundaries. Much of my pleasure comes in observing her uncertainty as I test her limits that she desires to stretch. I firmly believe in SSC (Safe, Sane & Consentual) play and keeping an open mind, willing to try new experiences.
I am very passionate in my desires and pursuits, be they in the lifestyle or out. While I enjoy the lifestyle, it does not consume my life; I have many diverse interests outside of it and enjoy sharing them with people. To suck the marrow out of life is more than a phrase, it is a constant pursuit of the pleasures and richness in life.
