I have been an observer watching (and wondering) from the sidelines of the "kink" scene for a few years now. None of my friends are into this scene (not that I am aware of at least), so I'm not sure how best to approach meeting people in real life - any suggestions are appreciated!
I am primarily interested in the submissive aspects of BDSM, but would maybe like to explore the dominant side of myself as well some day (it exists, but to a much lesser extent). One thing at a time.
I'm a single guy and would really like to connect with an experienced (more experienced than I am at least) Dominant woman in the LA area for some real play (a relationship is not necessarily my primary goal at this point... just looking to get my feet wet on some level). I'm open to anything and everything if it feels right, but am more than willing to start out as friends to get the ball rolling (or to just stay friends if that's how it goes).
I'm not a 24/7 lifestyle player or someone who could easily be in submissive mode in public. Kink-related activities are on my mind quite frequently, but I definitely am either on or off at different times during the week depending on what I'm doing (when I'm in the middle of an important project for work it would be difficult for me to feel 100% submissive and "kinky" at the drop of a hat, so my ideal play partner would also be someone who prefers to plan ahead somewhat for the "on" times). I can be pretty spontaneous, too, so anything could happen. :)
PROFILE PICTURE: I work online as a web developer (/MySQL and general front end HTML/CSS/JS scripting and so forth) and I'm debating whether or not it is a good idea to post pictures of myself here. Worried it could come back to haunt me at some point in the future. If anyone has any advice relating to profile picture best practices or knows of an accepted alternative method of proving what you look like to the world - I am all ears. Until then, I am probably invisible to the world without a photo of my face.
Until I figure out the photo thing - I am a: white male, 30 yrs. old, brown hair, 5' 11", decently fit (some jogging/hiking, light weight lifting and recently a little beach volleyball). Definitely not bad looking and absolutely nothing weird going on that would surprise anyone in a picture.
I don't use Facebook or any other social networking sites at all (and I build websites for a living!) and I don't have a profile on hardly any websites anywhere - but it is already hard enough to meet non-kinky adults out there in the world - so I figure I need to make myself as visible as possible.
That being said, my main objective is to connect with some REAL (non-pro, non-money seeking, non-distance) people in the Los Angeles area and see what happens. :)
