This is customary with most true Dom's or Masters to my knowledge at least.
A slave just doesn't jump it in to things or agree to a 24/7 relationship or really meet a Master without even knowing a little about them at first.
I like to get to know more about a slave or sub i have an interest in, just as they would want to know about the Master or Dom that an interest in them.
You would think this would be true with some of the people who take this lifestyle seriously, but, then i could be wrong to depending on the person's point of view.
