Sadly it turns out mine was too!.. the genuine CBXXXX belts have solid rings.. not rings looking like they were "bent" out of plastic I-beam shape.
the discomfort part! - well the reason people would fill the void is because your scrotum skin would chaff and fill that space.. very uncomfortable..
