Pavlovia volunteered at a fundraiser called Delirium for MetroCareRing tonight.  We ended up playing a lot and had a blast, considering it wasn't organized by kinksters.  

Cool!  I was interviewed for the Denver Examiner's June "Sexiest People in Denver" edition and that's up on their website.

We're hosting Matriarchy (for women and their human playthings) this Friday, May 27 and on June 3, we'll be hosting Post-aFuKalyptic, a play party with an apocalyptic twist.

Nancy Ava Miller will be presenting a class tonight at the RACK Room from 7-9pm. $10/person.    The class is "Erotic Hypno Fantasy".  She'll also be selling copies of her book, "Pervert".

The spanking  class went well.  The next one we'll do in the series for the Crypt will be a CBT class, possibly presented by several members of Pavlovia.  We're told we can do anything we want.  WOO!  Date to be determined, but I'm guessing it'll be sometime in June.

Matriarchy is coming up Friday 4/14, 9pm-2am at The RACK Room.  This is a party for women.  Males are only welcome as very well-behaved guests of females and are expected to be in service to the woman who's guested them in.

I appear to have developed a new bondage interest:  escape artists.  I was at a play party Saturday night and had someone in a tie and he asked to get himself out of it.  I didn't think it was possible, so I sat back to watch him fail miserably.  It took him about half an hour or more, but he worked at it and eventually got out of the ropes.  I'm looking forward to more challenges to my ties.

DenverBound is putting on a shibari minicon in October and I'm on a lineup of three presenters.  One of the other two is Jay Wiseman.  I can't believe I'll be on the same lineup as Jay Wiseman.  I die.  I believe I'll be teaching cupping. 

Boulderites:  Fascinations has Achella floggers for about 1/4 of what they cost at most Denver stores that carry them.  Pavlovia will be at the Boulder Fascinations store on Friday, July 13 from 7-10pm demonstrating beginner-level BDSM techniques.  This is a great opportunity for couples and newbies to learn to spice things up safely and to get some high-quality dungeon toys at a very good price.

Exciting news for Pavlovia, my house of domination:  we're going to be doing an in-store demo/class for Fascinations, the sex toy superstore.  We'll be covering topics of interest to the kink-curious:  bondage, sensual spankings, hot wax play, sensory deprivation and more.  This is a great opportunity for us and we're all very excited about it!

Just about all the Pavlovians are registered for ThunderintheMountains, Denver's biggest fetish lifestyle event.  It's not til July, but we're already preparing, planning scenes, deciding what dungeon furniture to loan to the conference, shopping for new outfits, getting our volunteer assignments and so on.  It'll be Miss Venom & Miss Bandita's first Thunder, Miss D's second (she was my first apprentice) and my fifth (or sixth?). 

Party Monster is going to be HUGE tonight.  DJ Keoki, James St. James and Amanda Lepore are just a few big names on the long list of celebs we'll be sharing a stage with.  Me and all the other dommes of Pavlovia are going to knock their glittery little socks off.  -- EDIT -- The party was fantabulous.  We did our balloon/blowgun act and we rocked it.  Combining S&M with performance art is the biggest rush ever.

I've done a couple of speaking engagements at CU Denver this month.  One was for a polisci class panel discussion on the topic of sexual minorities and civil rights.  The other was for a human sexuality class.  Both went very well and I've been asked to serve on the Speakers Bureau for the campus, which is a great honor.

Had a womens play party at my place last Friday. It was a blast. I got to do some fire play with a cute newbie girl. I've been practicing fire play with wicks (cotton swabs) instead of my violet wand lately, and have been enjoying it a lot. My houseboy really loves it.

Grr.  What I thought was a new pedicure slave is not turning out to be reliable.  He did really pretty work, too, and was just generally seriously good with his hands.  I'm a hands-o-phile, too.  Digiphile? Maniphile?  Dextraphile?  Whatever's the technical term for "sucker for a seriously good pair of hands".   Anyway, my toes are two weeks past their use-by date and no fresh toes are in sight. I'm supposed to see someone in a couple of days who wants a trampling scene, but I don't know how much I can enjoy it if I'm looking down (can't put a spike heel through an eye, no sir, not after what happened last time) and seeing chips and rough skin through the sandal straps.  Sure, I could hit a salon and pay $50, but they don't even kiss or lick or nibble while they work.  What fun is that? 

So I'm at my friend's birthday party last night, having a fantastic time, hanging out with a bunch of my domme friends and chatting with everyone's subbies.  This kid (23) that had offered himself to my friend to serve at the party was distinguishing himself as the most singularly unhelpful service slave in the history of voluntary service slaves.  He'd been told when he called to offer himself that he'd be expected to work at keeping things running smoothly, to serve guests by bringing them food/drinks and removing debris, as well as tidying up, doing dishes as needed, and so on.  He was not the only service slave there, but he was the only one that was sitting comfortably while guests were standing, eating before others had been served, interrupting conversations with excruciatingly boring and tangential comments.  He couldn't complete a task without demanding micromanagement.  "What should I do with this steak after I find something to store it in?  If it stays here on the counter, it'll go bad."  "Where should I put the clean dishes?"  And bizarrely, "Do you need a Ryder truck tomorrow?"  Every question came in the middle of some task he'd been specifically given, and appeared to necessitate his intruding on a conversation, lounging at feet, and interjecting his own long-winded opinions and experiences.  He followed the dommes and a few chosen submissives to the dungeon, and sat watching, questioning and commenting while play was happening. When asked why he wasn't serving or busy elsewhere, he'd mumble a response, and stay where he was, or wander off for a moment, and return almost immediately.   He wasn't even on the same floor as the kitchen.  He asked repeatedly to be played with and to get a dungeon tour. He needed a handler to direct him from moment to moment, and in the absence of one person taking on the task (and not able to enjoy the party at all), he got on everybody's nerves pretty equally.   

All the while, another service slave who hadn't even officially been asked to serve at the party was collecting used dishes, cutlery, glasses, tidying up the buffet, washing and drying dishes and stacking them on the counter if he didn't know where they went.  He wasn't asking for praise, applause or acknowledgment.  He saw what needed to be done and did it consistently and competently.  He didn't call attention to himself and was  comfortably unobtrusive.  He was given a lengthy break at one point by a switch friend who took him to a comfy couch and made out with him for awhile before sending him back to whatever he was motivated to do.  When the evening was done, he sat on another couch with the birthday girl and got cuddled and petted and appreciated while the other guy was quietly told he was high-maintenance (what's that mean, exactly, he asked, and he didn't just mean as it applied to him) and that S&M did not mean Stand and Model. 

I could go on and on about the myriad ways he was annoying and complete ineffective, but I think I've communicated the gist.  He'd offered to come audition as a domestic service slave at my place and is due in mere minutes, and I do not have the energy to tell him 20 times which side of the sponge to use and whether comet should be rinsed off, so ... I think I'll turn him away if he shows up.  Grr.
