A vivacious young blond woman from Los Angelas, CA purchased a rather large tract of old growth forest in upper Washington state for a sanctuary.
There was one particularly tall tree on the highest elevation of the tract offering a unique vantage point from which she desired to utilize to obtain a better view of the natural splendor of her newly acquired parcel from the very apex of that special tree.
Anxious to view of hre new purchase from such an advantageous perch , upon her first visit to the property; she promptly started to climb that tall tree.
As she neared the top of the big tree she encountered a rather angry Spotted Owl that immediately swooped down and viciously attacked her. In her haste to escape the bird, the woman hurriedly slid all the way down the trunk of the tree to the ground below and got a crotch full of very nasty splinters in the process.
Wincing in considerable pain, she hobbled back to her pink SUV , then rushed to the local emergency room to be seen a doctor. She told them there that she was a Feminist, an environmentalist, a Democrat, an anti-hunter and an anti-gun lobbyist; along with the story of how she came to get a such a huge quantity of splinters in her butt.
The admissions nurse listened to her story with great patience as she made notes, performed triage on her and then told her to take a seat in the waiting area and the doctor should be with her shortly.
She sat there in misery and waited for over three hours before her name was finally called. The angry woman furiously demanded, to know “What took you so long?”
The doctor smiled at her and then replied, “Well, I first made a couple phone calls and discovered under Federal law that I was required to obtain permits from the , the United States Forest Service,the Bureau of Land Management, the US Fish & Wildlife Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Surgeon General , the BTAF and your insurance carrier before I could remove old-growth timber splinters from a area surrounding such a major “recreational site” in close proximity to two separate waste disposal facilities. Then I had to perform an environmental impact study After my lunch break I submitted your claim to Obama Care and I'm sorry to inform you that they turned my request down for your recommended treatment plan. |
