If one is to become a "slave", what would it mean? How could it happen in "the land of the free"? Obviously the meaning of the word "slave" would have to be carefully discussed.
A discussion of the concept of slavery thus is very important if there is to be some form of enslavement put into place. IF someone were to place another person into enslavement in it truest form, that "someone" would be at risk for his or her own freedom. "Slavery" in its truest form is a crime in much of today's world - though it does exist.
So the question: Consider one who finds within himself that "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" is best realized in a state of enslavement to someone of his own choosing: Can agreements and arrangements be set to protect the ONE Who would be the slave Owner? How nearly could such an arrangement approach real historical slavery without the slave holder being at risk for a crime? What safeguards could be put into place to protect the slaveholder?
Obviously, the protection of the "slaveholder" will lie in documentation and substantiation of the (so-called) "slave" who has sought the relationship wherein he is enslaved. Thus, the "slave" has demonstrably created the circumstances of his enslavement by his own choice and on a continuing basis by his continued embrace of the circumstances of enslavement.
One could argue that such a "slave" is not really a slave because he is always free to exit the relationship at any moment he wishes. Would such a remonstrance be accurate? The concept of being enslaved has broad meaning. One who smokes tobacco and is hopelessly addicted to the substances in the tobacco smoke, is said to be a "slave" to it.
True slavery is often created by a dependency and compulsion that comes from within. The only way to view the reality of such "voluntary" enslavement is to recognize that for the human deeply enslaved from within, such slavery cannot be attributed to another party than the "slave" and that in being thus enslaved, he is freely pursuing his very own sort of "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness."
And what could be wrong with that?
There is an energy that is produced from the attraction of opposites to each other. Certainly, the attraction of a male to a female (whether by human or animal) is a powerful attraction. Add to that the energy produced by the attraction of a submissive to a dominant and there is a generation of attraction with potential that remains largely untapped.
These synergies of opposite attraction are found in many forms in the universe. Why not recognize them and embrace them as normal?
While percentages of Women who have come to understand how to harness the potential of a submissive male, are small. Still a few have.
*to be continued in time*
*Continued* (in this text, "slave" is male and female is "Mistress" or slave owner.)
Consider the notion of "Voluntary Enslavement". In fact, the state of being enslaved connotes an involuntary state of being. To be a slave means that one has no choice as to what he (or she) can do - he lives his time under the control of the One who owns him. And having lost (or surrendered)his freedom of choice, he lives his life at the whim of the One who owns him.
The one who seeks to be enslaved, does so from an illogical inner drive wherein he finds an illogical sense of pleasure from humility, deprivation, and suffering. However, these states of existence are not the objective within the state of being enslaved. The objective is to have a relationship with the One whom he has placed socially on a higher plane than he exists on. He perceives her as being unattainable by a lowly one such as himself - except that she would find pleasure and fulfillment in having one such as himself as a slave.
Having said that, he does not think the whole thing through as stated above. Its just the way it works. In his mind, he is unworthy to be Her lover however he finds it completely logical that she would enjoy having him for her slave - particularly for the benefits that would be hers by reason of having a slave.
Just as a submissive who aspires to be a "slave" seeks a dominant, so the natural dominant may seek a slave. However, in a society in which slavery is illegal, she cannot truly own a slave - unless she finds one of those rare males who are truly willing to put circumstances in place wherein he trapped by the one to whom he has sought to belong.
A very important consideration is to establish and document the desirability of both parties to such an arrangement and ultimately the consensual nature of the otherwise illegal enslavement.
Again, owning a slave in truest form is illegal and a crime. However, if one seeks and engages in a relationship that mirrors true slavery, then one has sought and found his "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. And there is nothing wrong with that.
SO -
If one seeking this embraced form of "slavery" is to find a "real" sort of enslavement; what would it look like? Surely, it would, from the external, have all of the appearances of real slavery, Yes?
And what would that look like? The spectrum of living conditions for a slave is broad. However, the most common perception of a slave's existence is that of -
*toil without reward
*unending endeavors to benefit and enrich the existence of the One who owns him
*life in the lowliest social status imaginable
*no influence upon his own self-determination
*to kneel, to bow, to render obeisance to one's Owner
*to practice motions and states of being that demonstrate subservience to Owner
*to render homage to one's Owner by the kissing or licking of feet - or other such demonstrations of abasement.
* to be subject to severe infliction of punishment at the whim of the owner - whether earned or not.
Life as a "consensual slave", of course, is not slavery in it truest form. However, slavery from within one's psyche may be a truer form of enslavement than "real" historic enslavement from other periods of the world's history.
Maybe, consensual enslavement could be a truer form of slavery than historic enslavement? Slaves who escaped in the past were often free for the rest of their lives. "Slaves" who have sought and found a genuine Owner to enslave them, are enslaved from within. Such a slave, even having "escaped" may find that they are compelled from within to return to the One who consented to "own" them. And that - even at the possible cost of a truly dreadful punishment.
Is this not so?
More on "Reality"...
Imagine that you could own a slave - not really such a far-fetched idea given that slavery has been practiced for most of known human history. Some statistics in our time suggest that there are more slaves in the world today than ever before - just not in some "free countries" such as the USA.
And this discussion does not consider historic slavery - nor suggest that involuntary slavery is good or moral. But aside from that, what about the "slave" discussed in this writing - the slave who is a slave from within himself - who finds that his pursuit of happiness involves a voluntary surrender to SOMEONE who finds their pursuit of happiness fulfilled in accepting the gift of servitude offered from the deeply submissive person? Such "slavery", of course, is not the same as an involuntary slavery. Yet, in immersed role play, the voluntary form of enslavement may be more compelling than an involuntary form of slavery.
Is there anything wrong with a dominant person accepting the gift of enslavement by one whose overwhelming compulsion is to belong as chattel property to the certain person whom he is compelled from within to serve as the lowliest of slave?
There is plenty of evidence that voluntary slavery exists - even in the most "free" nations. However, those who practice it in the more complete forms likely remain quiet about it in order to avoid probes or embarrassment. Yes?
This discussion is about the very real form of enslavement that is embraced and cherished by the involved parties. It is about slavery for the benefit of the Woman who would own such a slave. This is not about a fantasy play role. The slave would seek the relationship and propose the realities of it to the One who would be the prospective Mistress.
As a "slave" - in many ways appearing to be the lowliest and servile of slaves, yet finds his enslavement to the Mistress who he is compelled from within to serve, to be the absolute perfect life he could seek.
In endless toil, privation, humility, and utter subservience; he has found his happiness by reason of a relationship that otherwise would be impossible. He is a thrall - bound in bondage by invisible chains from within his psyche - toiling endlessly only to be rewarded by humiliation, privation, and suffering endless punishments for even the most insignificant failures to meet the extensive and exact requirements of the Woman who "owns" him.
But it is what he wanted. He would not have it any other way.
For Her part, the Mistress feels comfortable with the level of enslavement She has accepted from her slave. She understands his internal compulsion and has learned to capitalize on it. She owns a business in which her slave labors to produce income for her. He willingly works at the tasks she assigns him and submits to the severe punishments meted out by her upon him for even slight failures. His suffering from punishment is severe - and truly an incentive to work harder and better. The slave in his role does not question Her right to so totally dominate him. His is to obey and submit. His only remedy to decrease his suffering is to work harder and try not to make mistakes.
