If one is to become a "slave", what would it mean?  How could it happen in "the land of the free"?  Obviously the meaning of the word "slave" would have to be carefully discussed.

A discussion of the concept of slavery thus is very important if there is to be some form of enslavement put into place.  IF someone were to place another person into enslavement in it truest form, that "someone" would be at risk for his or her own freedom.  "Slavery" in its truest form is a crime in much of today's world - though it does exist.

So the question: Consider one who finds within himself that "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness" is best realized in a state of enslavement to someone of his own choosing:  Can agreements and arrangements be set to protect the ONE Who would be the slave Owner?  How nearly could such an arrangement approach real historical slavery without the slave holder being at risk for a crime?  What safeguards could be put into place to protect the slaveholder?

Obviously, the protection of the "slaveholder" will lie in documentation and substantiation of the (so-called) "slave" who has sought the relationship wherein he is enslaved.  Thus, the "slave" has demonstrably created the circumstances of his enslavement by his own choice and on a continuing basis by his continued embrace of the circumstances of enslavement.

One could argue that such a "slave" is not really a slave because he is always free to exit the relationship at any moment he wishes.  Would such a remonstrance be accurate?  The concept of being enslaved has broad meaning.  One who smokes tobacco and is hopelessly addicted to the substances in the tobacco smoke, is said to be a "slave" to it.

True slavery is often created by a dependency and compulsion that comes from within.  The only way to view the reality of such "voluntary" enslavement is to recognize that for the human deeply enslaved from within, such slavery cannot be attributed to another party than the "slave" and that in being thus enslaved, he is freely pursuing his very own sort of "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness."

And what could be wrong with that?

There is an energy that is produced from the attraction of opposites to each other.  Certainly, the attraction of a male to a female (whether by human or animal) is a powerful attraction.  Add to that the energy produced by the attraction of a submissive to a dominant and there is a generation of attraction with potential that remains largely untapped.

These synergies of opposite attraction are found in many forms in the universe.  Why not recognize them and embrace them as normal?

While percentages of Women who have come to understand how to harness the potential of a submissive male, are small.  Still a few have.

*to be continued in time*

*Continued* (in this text, "slave" is male and female is "Mistress" or slave owner.)

Consider the notion of "Voluntary Enslavement".  In fact, the state of being enslaved connotes an involuntary state of being.  To be a slave means that one has no choice as to what he (or she) can do - he lives his time under the control of the One who owns him.  And having lost (or surrendered)his freedom of choice, he lives his life at the whim of the One who owns him.

The one who seeks to be enslaved, does so from an illogical inner drive wherein he finds an illogical sense of pleasure from humility, deprivation, and suffering.  However, these states of existence are not the objective within the state of being enslaved.  The objective is to have a relationship with the One whom he has placed socially on a higher plane than he exists on.  He perceives her as being unattainable by a lowly one such as himself - except that she would find pleasure and fulfillment in having one such as himself as a slave.

Having said that, he does not think the whole thing through as stated above.  Its just the way it works.  In his mind, he is unworthy to be Her lover however he finds it completely logical that she would enjoy having him for her slave - particularly for the benefits that would be hers by reason of having a slave.

Just as a submissive who aspires to be a "slave" seeks a dominant, so the natural dominant may seek a slave.  However, in a society in which slavery is illegal, she cannot truly own a slave - unless she finds one of those rare males who are truly willing to put circumstances in place wherein he trapped by the one to whom he has sought to belong.

A very important consideration is to establish and document the desirability of both parties to such an arrangement and ultimately the consensual nature of the otherwise illegal enslavement.

Again, owning a slave in truest form is illegal and a crime. However, if one seeks and engages in a relationship that mirrors true slavery, then one has sought and found his "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.  And there is nothing wrong with that.

SO -

If one seeking this embraced form of "slavery" is to find a "real" sort of enslavement; what would it look like?  Surely, it would, from the external, have all of the appearances of real slavery, Yes?

And what would that look like?  The spectrum of living conditions for a slave is broad.  However, the most common perception of a slave's existence is that of -

*toil without reward

*unending endeavors to benefit and enrich the existence of the One who owns him

*life in the lowliest social status imaginable

*no influence upon his own self-determination

*to kneel, to bow, to render obeisance to one's Owner

*to practice motions and states of being that demonstrate subservience to Owner

*to render homage to one's Owner by the kissing or licking of feet - or other such demonstrations of abasement.

* to be subject to severe infliction of punishment at the whim of the owner - whether earned or not.

Life as a "consensual slave", of course, is not slavery in it truest form.  However, slavery from within one's psyche may be a truer form of enslavement than "real" historic enslavement from other periods of the world's history.

Maybe, consensual enslavement could be a truer form of slavery than historic enslavement?  Slaves who escaped in the past were often free for the rest of their lives.  "Slaves" who have sought and found a genuine Owner to enslave them, are enslaved from within.  Such a slave, even having "escaped" may find that they are compelled from within to return to the One who consented to "own" them.  And that - even at the possible cost of a truly dreadful punishment.

Is this not so?

More on "Reality"...

Imagine that you could own a slave - not really such a far-fetched idea given that slavery has been practiced for most of known human history.  Some statistics in our time suggest that there are more slaves in the world today than ever before - just not in some "free countries" such as the USA.

And this discussion does not consider historic slavery - nor suggest that involuntary slavery is good or moral.  But aside from that, what about the "slave" discussed in this writing - the slave who is a slave from within himself - who finds that his pursuit of happiness involves a voluntary surrender to SOMEONE who finds their pursuit of happiness fulfilled in accepting the gift of servitude offered from the deeply submissive person?  Such "slavery", of course, is not the same as an involuntary slavery.  Yet, in immersed role play, the voluntary form of enslavement may be more compelling than an involuntary form of slavery.

Is there anything wrong with a dominant person accepting the gift of enslavement by one whose overwhelming compulsion is to belong as chattel property to the certain person whom he is compelled from within to serve as the lowliest of slave?

There is plenty of evidence that voluntary slavery exists - even in the most "free" nations.  However, those who practice it in the more complete forms likely remain quiet about it in order to avoid probes or embarrassment.  Yes?

This discussion is about the very real form of enslavement that is embraced and cherished by the involved parties.  It is about slavery for the benefit of the Woman who would own such a slave.  This is not about a fantasy play role.  The slave would seek the relationship and propose the realities of it to the One who would be the prospective Mistress.

As a "slave" - in many ways appearing to be the lowliest and servile of slaves, yet finds his enslavement to the Mistress who he is compelled from within to serve, to be the absolute perfect life he could seek.

In endless toil, privation, humility, and utter subservience; he has found his happiness by reason of a relationship that otherwise would be impossible.  He is a thrall - bound in bondage by invisible chains from within his psyche - toiling endlessly only to be rewarded by humiliation, privation, and suffering endless punishments for even the most insignificant failures to meet the extensive and exact requirements of the Woman who "owns" him.

But it is what he wanted.  He would not have it any other way.

For Her part, the Mistress feels comfortable with the level of enslavement She has accepted from her slave.  She understands his internal compulsion and has learned to capitalize on it.  She owns a business in which her slave labors to produce income for her.  He willingly works at the tasks she assigns him and submits to the severe punishments meted out by her upon him for even slight failures.  His suffering from punishment is severe - and truly an incentive to work harder and better.  The slave in his role does not question Her right to so totally dominate him.  His is to obey and submit.  His only remedy to decrease his suffering is to work harder and try not to make mistakes.

7/31/2017 8:50:56 AM: Anyone for discussion?  This male continues to be amazed that more dominants here do not seem to be interested in 'owning' a slave that would submit to the role of traditional slavery wherein the slave Owner would realize an actual economic benefit from the slave's toil.  True, real slavery is illegal.  But what about the 'voluntary' slave - who would agree to become a 'domestic partner' under a lifestyle contract that spells out the choice and consensual nature of a Dominant/submissive relationship.  Such a contract, of course, is not enforceable.  However, such a 'contract' would provide prime evidence of the consensual nature of such a relationship in the unlikely event that someone outside of the relationship became concerned. What if, for instance, the ('Mistress') slaveholder would simply own a lawn care service.  No one need know the enslaved nature of the male who would drive up, unload the commercial lawn-care equipment, and provide impeccable professional care to the client/homeowner.  The male, on  completion of the work, would simply reload his equipment and head to the next job.   He never even knows any detail of the business arrangement between his Mistress/Owner and Her client - to whom he has provided the labor.  In the event there would ever be any customer service issue or complaint, he knows well the painful consequence of anything less than perfection.  Corrective action for even slight failures could be genuine incentive to the 'slave' who would present  himself to his Owner's  clients as being most anxious to provide excellence and value.  Naturally, the 'slave' of this relationship is not presented - nor even clue given - concerning the relationship's true nature.  He comes across to his Owner's client simply as a very diligent service provider - anxious to build a good business.  Is this an absurd idea?  Is this model not fashioned under the same premise as historic slavery?  BUT with a bit of a twist?  The 'slave' - though he has enjoyed the benefit of choosing who would 'own' him - still lives as the slave of someone he has voluntarily chosen to serve.  For him, 'enslavement' is the ultimate realization of his 'life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.'  His huge benefit - very meaningful to him - is his ability and right to choose WHO would own him - assuming of course that She would have him.  Naturally, not all in D/s scenarios are this serious or permanent.  However, is there any reason NOT to design such an arrangement?  Otherwise, D/s will continue to be mostly an acting scenario where the 'slave' pays a 'dominant' to pretend that he is Her slave and they interact for an hour or few - and go their separate ways.  Yes?No?

7/13/2017 2:46:30 AM: It seems interesting to this male that more dominants seem NOT to be seeking a voluntary slave here for the fiduciary benefits. Most likely, there is an understanding that arrangements are for 'play' and thus do not include the benefits of having a real slave - meaning a slave who works as chattel for the benefit of it's Owner. So what is this male talking about?  Imagine the financial benefits of owning - say - maybe a skilled mechanic?  Daily he goes to work in a garage - maybe a business owned by his Mistress/Owner?  Or maybe he works for a successful garage and his paycheck goes weekly into a joint account with his mistress - to which he does not have access?  Or maybe, he is skilled in growing high value crops and managing a farm for profit?  Or maybe he is a dentist, or a doctor?  The line of labor in which he engages would not be important except that as a 'slave' - if he really is one to his Mistress - his endeavors are totally to the benefit of the One to whom he has surrendered:  She 'owns' him and what he produces belongs to Her:  Yes?  No?Of course, such slavery (if it was truly real slavery) would be illegal - except IF the would be 'slave' wishes to assume the role of enslavement to that person to whom he has captured himself - fully voluntarily, of course.  In the ultimate fulfillment of the dream to be a slave to One Who, the enslavement could be complete.  The submissive disposition can be powerful - given the finding of the right match.  Naturally, the perfect match for the complete submissive would be the complete dominant, yes?  The 'slave' does not wish to beg to be a slave - rather he would wish to be CAPTURED (in a sense) and his toiling to be forced in some way.  Again, this cannot be legally compelled but yet circumstances could be designed to effectively create a realistic simulation of slavery - very realistic.  Agree?  Disagree?

11/25/2016 6:37:51 AM: Someone seeking a 'slave' here?  What do you seek?  What does it mean to be a 'slave'?  Typically, 'slave' in  its purest meaning is for one human to be the chattel or owned property of another human.  In some societies practicing slavery, the slave owner even had the power of life or death over their human property. The purest and most real practice of slavery is illegal in much of the world today, however, it is still practiced in some other cultures around the world.  Some statistics suggest that there are more real slaves in the world today than at any previous known time. Slavery in the United States was practiced (particularly in the 'South') under its purest meaning.  The slave's existence was governed totally at the whim of his Owner - even to life or death. Thus slaves, depending on their owner, either lived lives with some semblance of humanity while others with more cruel Owners lived their lives in suffering and deprivation.  In all cases, the existence of the slave was at the whim of it's Owner.Holding and keeping slaves on an involuntary basis is a serious crime in the US and most nations of the world.  But what about those rare persons who somehow sense a destiny where they can only be fulfilled as owned chattel?  Must such an individual travel the world to find what he (or she) seeks? If, indeed, one could voluntarily put itself in circumstances that result in effective enslavement; would that put the slave holder at legal risk?  What sort of documentation (might) would protect the (effective) slaver from criminal prosecution?

11/25/2016 3:31:39 AM: 'Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.'???Thinking about the flow of energy - take two bars of magnets and turn them so that the positive of one and the positive of the other are matched.  Move them to touch each other - positive to positive or negative to negative.  There is a natural force of repelling.  Next, position the positive of one to the negative of the other and there is a force of attraction resulting in a magnetic embrace.  Literal magnetism is a visible demonstration of how 'opposites attract'.  This force is found in many ways occurring in various relationships of the world.  The attraction of males to females - or females to males is another example.  Less recognized but yet oh so real is the attractions of dominance and submission. These natural relational forces are as real as the forces of magnetic attraction.  Combined with the natural forces of attraction between Female and male, the force can become powerfully compelling. Dominance and submission is often a part of various other combinations of attraction forces.  The best matches are those of several mutual attraction forces coming together in relationships where there are multiple attraction forces are strong with opposite attraction forces driving the relationship.  Thus, although it is natural that a male is attracted to a female and she attracted to him, the relationship force is even stronger in which one is dominant and the other is submissive.  Complimentary forces tend to create more energy than like forces. The dynamic of the forces of dominance and submission is often misunderstood - often being attributed to 'abuse'.  Being 'submissive' to one whom one regards as exalted in status comes naturally as a result of profound admiration for traits the submissive observes and recognizes in the one admired. As the power of the dynamic increases, the submissiveness of the one increases toward the dominant one whom he begins to view as exalted in status and entitled to his obeisance and homage.  The result is a natural inclination to abase himself before the one whom he has come to perceive as having an exalted nature. Is it not so, that some free persons might find their ultimate 'life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness' in being the lowly chattel of an exalted person he (or she) is compelled from within to offer his ultimate servitude and obeisance?  Having recognized that, is it not also true that the greatest life benefit is recognized when the one to whom the submissive submits is a strong dominant who revels and finds ultimate enjoyment in 'owning' the chattel who submits and humbles himself before her - offering her the full benefits of 'owning' a slave? And is this not the way it should be?  This commenter has read the works of Ingrid Bellemare, Elise Sutton, and Aline d'Arbrant.  These are Women who have or had a need to own those who were submissive - males who would find life fulfillment in making a complete and total surrender to them as dominant women.  The males who became the 'slaves' of these women were enslaved in the truest sense of the word's meaning.  The dynamic was (is) powerful - with both sides of the equation finding their needs met.More as time permits.....

9/28/2016 6:07:43 AM: Rambling thoughts over time.  And why not?Thinking this day of the concept of 'slavery'...  a word with broad connotations.  The purest meaning of slavery (in the mind of this 'boy') has to do with rights of self-determination.  Millions, or Billions, of humans in the history of earth have been the purest of chattel - with no 'right' to even the simplest forms of self-determination.  Even their very existence is at the pleasure of their 'master' or 'mistress'.  For these creatures, their status is simply that of being a possession of their owner - with a status equal to the slippers that the owner puts on in the morning or the chair that he or she sits upon - an object to be used as most desired by the owner.  Under the highest levels of dominance, the whim of the slave's Owner becomes the most compelling focus of the slave.  Some slave Owners have cared  for their slaves as a beloved creature - on level with an animal like a dog or a horse.  The more unfortunate slaves have been worked endlessly with only the thought of how much value can this slave bring to my balance sheet.  And while such a slave may have fresh energy in the early morning as they begin their toils, the energy ebbs later in the day and it may take the Master's whip to squeeze the final ounces of effort that can be mustered.  Consider the slaves who built the pyramids for the Pharaohs / Egyptians of ancient Egypt.  Today, one can see these edifices standing in stark reminder to enormous efforts, no doubt under the unimaginable pain of their taskmaster's lash - over and over - day after day in toil.  Such slavery is the extreme example of domination of one human upon another.  Add to the extreme labor - the humility demanded by their masters - obeisance - kneeling, bowing, groveling - the most menial levels of subservience that is possible.  Day after day, with no break - no rest.  Living as 'Chattel' (or human cattle)... subsistence on the level of animals.  Toil without rest - whipped without mercy - sustenance with no taste - life devoid of dignity.  Such as these conditions are reality for some in the world - even today.====================================It is difficult to imagine anyone with the psyche to desire the form of the purest of enslavement discussed in the words above.  However, the concept of living as a 'slave' is desired by many - except that they would like to find a life that involves some level and form of enslavement.   (to be continued)
