Ive enjoyed BDSM for many years and have had several interesting, fun, healthy, relationships with a BDSM component to them. Exploring the community and meeting people who have been involved for a long time was eye opening. Some of my earliest relationships started out vanilla and got more interesting over time, and those with women who have acknowledged an interest and openness to this, have been even more enjoyable.
One of the things Ive found very interesting about the people who really get this lifestyle is the trust and communication that it requires and builds. Thats something that is very important in all relationships, but can be difficult to find. Starting out having open discussions about the things that one likes and doesnt like sets the stage for talking about many different topics without the fear of being judged. Thats long been one of the best parts of the experience.
