I would really love to hear from anyone who reads this profile. I'm really looking for answers to 4 questions:
  1. How much would you personally pay for a comparable, custom item?
  2. Would you have any interest in actually ordering one? (I'm not set up to make any, and I'm NOT taking orders currently...I'm just wondering if it would be worth the extra money for a spare bedroom or shop - more detail below)
  3. Do you have any experience in shopping for or purchasing floggers? (No harm if you have no experience, I'd love to hear from everyone who has an opinion...I just need to discern personal opinions from information gained from real-life comparisons.)
  4. Do you know of any online sites that sell custom/quality floggers like this?
Hi, this is not a "sales pitch", I'm only trying to gather opinions and information from a target audience. (I have a separate profile on this site for more...personal communication.) As a fun hobby, I started making floggers...and have found some folks on websites like this that are interested in them. I know the likelihood of my earning a living doing this are slim, but if I can help supplement my income doing things like this, I'd be extremely happy. I've also considered making some other BDSM items - harnesses, benches, etc. Right now, I do not have the ability to fabricate any of my own items, but I'm looking at moving, and if there is enough interest in items that would justify the extra cost, I'd look for living space with an extra room for custom projects. :) The floggers in these photos were created after some trial and error. I wanted them to feel substantial, but I am not a fan of pain. Each have several dozen tails, which are very heavy. I was able to make the handle heavy enough to balance by creating it out of iron pipe filled with lead bird buckshot and cement. They can be swung quite hard, yet do not elicit pain, so much as a nice "tingling"...almost like a brisk massage!! The brown and white one offers more of a "bite" than the purple and black, because all tails are made of tanned leather. The purple and black tails are all suede, and quite soft. Investing in the goods to make these items is not terribly cheap, so I'm hoping to get more information before I proceed. I have tried to look online for comparable items, to see how much I should charge...but remarkably, I wasn't able to find any. I met a Dom in Anchorage, AK who collected floggers - he purchased them at various stores throughout the country, and online. He had about 50 different ones, but none of them came close, either. The base cost for materials is around $75, depending on the leather, and there is a significant time investment - because there are items like leather conditioner and glue, and cement, that have to dry before continuing, they take a minimum of 3 days to I would be truly, truly grateful for any serious information that anyone would care to share. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and (hopefully) respond!!
