Probing the depths of the psyche - how far does the rabbit hole go, Alice? Who knows? I have experienced places where one knows further portals exist, but have not yet reached them. Can a slave be propelled that far and still be protected? We go beyond that which the books, the websites, the movies, even standard psychology can reach. There are sounds, there are colors, but no further frame of reference to even begin to illustrate what lies beyond, but only within the strict parameters of control of the ego - one has to be a totally blank canvas.

Perception is reality. The absolutists only think in terms of what they consider bright-line "right" and "wrong." If anything comes along that questions the dogma, it becomes personal attack and it usually fought against vehemently for that reason (certainly not a critical discussion of ideas leading up to a particular conclusion. "Don't confuse me with the facts, I've already made up my mind."
When one embraces relativism, one can then entertain new ideas, contradictory ideas and even irreconcilable conclusions to essentially the same dilemma. It is the holding of numerous irreconcilable conclusions in one's mind and not necessarily negating or dismissing any of them. New information leads to new conclusions - those outcomes are dynamic based on additional information. One is not crammed into a rigid dogma that doesn't fit logically because it was based on old outdated information. See old geocentric religious adherence - Galileo ran into that. They didn't give that one up until hundreds of years later.
Life is messy. It doesn't always add up nor is it fair or even predictable. It is always difficult when confronted with a complex issue and one realizes there are no good answers, only a plethora of consequences with various outcomes. One ends up having to weigh all those outcomes for the most beneficial outcome, but sometimes, it's only a matter of choosing that which is the least damaging in outcome. Such is life - don't fall into "dogma guarding" - "Don't confuse me with the facts, I've already made up my mind."
I do find it interesting when those tasked with dealing with highly complex problems become so flummoxed when they finally realize you can't solve complex problems with simplistic and "shoot from the hip" answers. No, sometimes instincts are not enough ... you have to apply a little gray matter and not just see it on TV. Sometimes, there aren't any good answers and you're stuck admitting just maybe, somebody else had a good idea and you just learned something. |

Nuance - "a subtle difference in or shade of meaning, expression, or sound."
I shall generalize for a moment, but I have found most males read something and glean the factual content. If it is some type of quandary or dilemma, then it appears the first inclination is to offer a solution. Everything is merely a problem to be solved.
There is so much more nuance to a great deal of communication. Many people communicate on many, many levels and put a variety of meanings in written prose. Poets are probably the most prodigious and creative in these shades of meaning. Yes, it's a lot of work to read and listen carefully to find these various levels, but that is where higher thoughts, symbolism, irony, query, introspection and commentary of a more abstract level take place.
Womyn (in contrast) communicate on many more levels than most males are aware. Womyn seem mysterious to you because you don't hear what We are trying to tell you in the most seemingly mundane statements. It's also why you find yourself stumbling into "saying" things offensive (or complimentary) that you never intended to say. you probably inserted a clear nuance into that statement that hit the Woman in your life loud and clear, but you never intended.
Like all minorities (even though we have the majority percentage of population - go figure), We had to learn to speak in the languages of the majority, but our language was never learned - why bother? It was up to us to fit into your world.

Not just MY words, but the writings of those ancients who continue to impart their words, Plato, Marcus Aurelius, Seneca are true ancient sages who can teach you, not the greedy buffoons busily trying to extract your soul, your decency and make NO mistake, anything of value you have. Shut off the feeding of propaganda, turn off the nonsense and read what YOU KNOW is right to read. Either you educate yourselves or you will end up another victim of exploitation. When things begin to really look dark and chaotic, there is a tendency to cling to a "king" or other strong authoritarian in fear. This never works out well - history always bears this out. NEVER give up your freedom for safety or even comfort. It's a fallacy to think you can gain anything by shutting down civil liberty, dissenting voices or shared power. Closing your mind and vilifying any dissenting voice only demonstrates your fear of another point-of-view. There can be more than one "right" answer. The fact another person has an opposing perspective does not invalidate your perspective. Do not allow yourself to be threatened just because there is another way to perceive something else. Welcome other points and thoughts. You might learn something you never considered. Can't you see that it is all those opposing perspectives that are deliberated and discussed that bring about that best of both? By shutting all opposing voices down, you become frozen in one way of thinking. Nothing grows when it is frozen. Growth isn't easy; it is painful and confusing, but inevitable, and ultimately, the only way forward.
Our precious (and tenuous) freedom is a gift bought for us by hundreds of thousands of patriot lives. Don't let those sacrifices be all in vain. Honor them by standing up for what they fought for (ALL dissenting voices and opinions) and the freedom to voice opposition.

I am coming to believe the greatest sin is hypocrisy. It encompasses falsehood, lack of logic and reason, deception and complete lack of inner morality. It's a subterfuge; a symptom of an underlying chaos of the psyche. Why on earth do We tolerate such wanton displays of characteristics no society should tolerate, especially of its leaders? Why do We feel incapable of taking a moral stand? Is it because society does not value integrity? We don't - only power is valued now, at the cost of integrity. It is the mantra of the brutes at the gate. Didn't you know? "True" respect is earned, otherwise all you have is intimidation. As Caligula famously remarked, "Oderint, dum metuant."
Hobbes was right. The future is a return to another form of the Dark Ages. Be careful what you wish for. Every time males get what they think they want, they disintegrate into their worst traits. Strong Womyn are the only check on this self-destruction.
I like to imagine a world run by a consortium of highly capable and compassionate Womyn. I abhor how politicized we are. We all want the same things. Almost everyone wants a decent style of life, a productive job, and decent schools so the children have a chance. The enemies being created around us (to rile us up) aren't us. FIND ways to have common goals and discussion. Don't let the nihilists tear us apart. Learn to listen to the fears and concerns of everyone and deal with those. Don't get caught up in the propaganda "bait" being dangled in front of you to emphasize "us against them."
