I've been looking around this site for a little while and finally decided to get off my couch (metaphorically speaking...since I'm actually sitting on it right now) and create a profile.
As you might have guessed from the profile name, I have a rather varied range of interests both inside and outside of BDSM. I find a lot of disparate things interesting, inspiring, and entertaining.
For the "vanilla" part, I enjoy reading (mostly history and classical literature), doing crosswords or other puzzle games, bad puns, irreverent jokes, random nonsense, and tomfoolery. I manage to stay in pretty decent shape by working out and being involved with martial arts. I also enjoy video games, a reallllllyyy wide range of movies (from action to sci-fi, to horror, to 80s cheese, to "serious" dramas etc) and music. Yep, I have a life outside of bdsm and my hope is that you do as well.
On the spicier side of the equation, I am looking for someone that I have a connection with. I find that it is tough for me to state with great certainty that "I like doing X, Y, Z" because so much of enjoyment depends on finding that spark and mutual wavelength with another person. Don't get me wrong, there are some things I am inherently into (and have tried to include on my list of likes) and others I have no interest in, but just because person A and person B enjoy spanking doesn't make them a match...or at least not one that produces any heat.
That is also part of the reason I chose the "switch" label. I find that the energy and dynamics of the people involved in a relationship ultimately dictate what shape it takes. I sometimes find that people put too much energy into worrying about whether or not they are a perfect fit for some predetermined box...and not enough energy into finding another person who is also "outside the box" in similar ways.
To me, the mental and emotional aspects of bdsm, and the connection between the people involved, are wildly underrated. The buildup and anticipation of play is often as much fun as they play itself. If there is no connection between the ears, I think you end up just going through the motions and missing out on the most intense (and fun) parts. Knowing what buttons to push and what makes your partner unique and exciting is a real talent and only comes with trust, communication, and practice.
So, bottom line, I'm interested in finding somebody fun and interesting and letting things progress from there, whatever that might turn out to be. Nobody really knows what the final destination will be, but that is half the fun of the journey :)

I hope everyone is getting out and enjoying the weather today, especially in Minnesota we know what's coming soon but memories of these days makes it bearable.
Also like to say that's it's always cool to see new people from the area on this site, especially when they're friendly and interesting to chat with. I hope that everybody (new, old hands, and everyone in between) has a great time here and finds what they are seeking. |

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend and keeps in mind, at least for a moment or two, what the holiday means (and no, I don't mean furniture sales or great deals on new shoes). Thank you to all past and present veterans, especially those who didn't come home from the battlefield. |

Despite the snow outside, I'm happy to see that we're just about at the end of the road for winter this year. Having said that of course, we'll likely end up like last year with a sudden snow storm in April. But I'm looking forward to getting outside again and without having to worry about my ears freezing off. |

It never ceases to amaze me how people in Minnesota seemingly forget how to drive in winter. Maybe during the summer months that knowledge just kind of melts away? I understand that sometimes the roads are legitimately bad and there's nothing anybody can do, but I swear that some people really should just either take the bus or move further south.
Having said that, I hope everybody is safe and sound this winter and on the bright side, at least we aren't in Boston where they don't have anywhere to put the snow! |

Is back in the country after some wild adventures abroad. Now if the gross humidity would go away I could get into the serious business of enjoying the 4th weekend. Hope everybody has a great, and safe, holiday!
Also, just a random thought to put out there. I see a lot of profiles from subs/slaves on here (from both males and females) that seem to believe that repeatedly saying that they are "worthless" is a good marketing angle. Here's the thing about that. If you honestly don't perceive your own worth, why would anybody else? I understand that for some people being degraded is part of their kink and that's fine, but I just get the feeling that a lot of people are trying to "outslave" the next person in order to get attention. Ultimately though I can't imagine that many Doms/Masters/Insert title here, are interested in people who view themselves this way 24/7. A sense of balance is always a positive. |

The weather is finally starting to warm up, thank God! It's been a lonnnggg and painful winter but now that's it's coming to an end you start to see everything come back to life as the snow and ice melt away. Time to get out and have some fun everybody. |

Ahhhh yes, winters in Minnesota. What a grand time! All the fun and excitement of shoveling out a mountain of snow, watching people who apparently have forgotten how to drive in winter slide into things, and the potential of frostbite. What more could you ask for? But hey, I still love the Twin Cities so it's just the price you have to pay I'm afraid. Hope everyone is staying safe!

I am absolutely thrilled that the sun is finally out, and the snow/ice is melting. Great to see people outside and walking around, riding bikes, whatever really.

Thrilled that the weekend is allmmmoooosssttt here and the weather seems to be holding out a little while longer. I somehow feel like I should get in at least one more terrible summer movie, just to celebrate the season.

I'm trying to find an interesting (and half decent) picture for my profile although it likely won't be a face picture because of career concerns (damn starched collar types!).
