Have you ever felt that you were born in the wrong century? Have you ever wished you could go back in time to the age or Greece, Rome, or the American South--ages when it was not only legal, but laudable to use others for your own benefit? Have you ever thought that, as Fitzhugh says, there is something fundamentally natural and right about superiors controlling inferiors?
If so, then you and I should talk. I feel the same way. I wish I was born in an age when someone with my impulse to serve had a place in society. I feel that there is nothing wrong or unnatural about this impulse: I was created with a saddle on my back, and I need someone to be in control of me, with the boots and the bit and the reins and the spur.
What I seek is not a sexual situation, although control may be expressed in sexual ways. What I seek is a situation in which a natural Dominant takes what is his or her birthright to command an inferior. I seek a situation where I may be allowed to realize my nature as a slave, with no will or rights beyond the right to continue serving those who are my superiors in every way.
In real world terms, I seek someone who has the ability to put me to productive uses on a daily basis. This means you must have a business or land through which I may earn my keep and improve your life. This means you must have the impulse to impose the kind of disciplinary regime that slaves have always known--both because discipline works, because I need it, and because I deserve it, not for having done some wrong, but because of what I am.
Imagine I came to you as a Roman citizen and told you I wanted to be a slave, a desire that would be seen as contemptible by most ancient Romans. What would you do? Would you try to talk me out of it? Or would you sneer at me, disgusted by my nature, even as you place the chains on my wrists so that I can be led off to a life of toil and pain?
