11/18/2012 9:12:29 PM: Given the propensity of the internet to be a vast, wild and confusing place and given that often I am similarly a vast, wild and confusing individual I shall introduce a modicum of normality to this profile. The main picture and first one is my current appearance. Others are previous styles and looks that I have tried over the years. There is no guarantee that any of this, save the historical aspects, will remain as a constant. This is the look I am currently satisfied with. It should be fairly obvious but just in case, the images not of me are ones that amuse me in some form or fashion.   Of late, I've taken a liking to 'antique' looks, the styles of the 20's - 50's but as ever with a modern twist. Few things seem to beat a button-down shirt and vest with a smart tie and topped with a fedora or trilby.    Maybe I was born in the wrong decade, but that doesn't mean I cannot echo the style to an extent, hm?

I figure they round out my typical sense of humor pretty well, for demonstrative purposes, hence their posting on here. Actual human being posting actual thoughts. No, it's not updated frequently, it's updated when I have something to say, or 'approximately when I give a shit'. 10/15/2010 10:39:26 AM: Masks. We all wear them. Even if we don't intend to, it's our natural inclination. We can delude ourselves into thinking we don't, and our masks may be little more than enough to cover a single corner, but we wear them none the less. Our intent is not to be deceitful, more than anything many of us want nothing more than to find that individual for whom the mask is transparent. I will freely admit, I wear the mask of the clown. It's far easier to smile. People stop asking questions if they believe you happy. The clown never frowns and no matter what may be happening behind that brightly painted face, it is always smiling. There are many times when I do feel that smile, and knowing it's there is a comfort. It is these times that the mask becomes my face. I prefer the role of the jester. Long has it been our duty to make people smile, but to also point out the absurd, to speak plainly the truths that no one else feels comfortable with. This role brings me happiness, and so the mask I wear is not a mask born of a fear of discovery, but one of purpose and design. It is also the crutch upon which I place my own burdens in those times when I do not feel the part. A maudlin harlequin can still play his role. In times of need it is far easier to turn the mask around and take a small measure of joy in the painted smile.
