Poor perance of your duties will of course be properly punished. Even if you are pering well there will be pain and torture since I'm a true sadist. I am specially interested in feet, but not only. So don´t think the rest of your body is in any way safe. That means you will be barefoot a great deal of the time. The fact that I don't  use shoes Myself if I can avoid it has nothing to do with it.
