I like reading profiles.  I find them fascinating and entertaining.  Some are so gifted in writing about who they are and what they are looking for.  But I started thinking about this entire process.  Humans are so much more complex than the autobiographical caricature they create on a page.  I wonder how many wonderful potentials I have passed on because of my inability to know more than what's written on the profile and my lack of time to explore.

I have had many conversations about the underlying motivation for people who come into the BDSM realm.  In my opinion it's based on a desire that is common among all humans.  The need to feel socially connected.  To know that if I share my darkest deviant desire I will be accepted in a nonjudgmental way.  And most will search for that need from a platform of honesty but not all.  I have found that people who are dishonest have found that its an easier path to attempt to get their needs fulfilled but ultimately it leaves them empty.  Dishonesty gets in the way of social connection and even the most naive person sees through the lies eventually.  Just some thoughts.......
