Hi.
I'm not in Maryland at the moment - I'm actually in Rhode Island - and I'm creating this account to make online friends before relocating back to Maryland in January. I have previously been a student in Annapolis, Maryland, and will be one in the spring semester of 2010. I had to take a medical leave this winter in February, which required me to return home, to Rhode Island.
I don't identify as a submissive, but rather as a bottom - I consider myself someone who enjoys receiving pain and rough treatment, especially bondage, but who isn't interested in protocol. This is in part because I am a strong feminist and a firm opponent of any established system of male supremacy. I enjoy playing with power within my own relationships, but I am willing to submit both to men and women, so long as it is understood that I have no interest in being anyone's slave.
In the civilian world, as it were, my interests include art, literature, philosophy, and the sciences. I am an aspiring medical student (I plan to begin a sequence of pre-medical courses this fall, before returning to Annapolis). I am an unashamed atheist, but have many religious friends. I believe in the sacred despite not believing in God.
Um. I have "baggage", so to speak, so that comes with the package -- I figure I'll just be honest. I don't consider myself a particularly dramatic or vindictive person - I think I'm generally pretty generous - but I have gone through some pretty complicated shit in my life.
Classicists and scientists are particularly encouraged to write.
