Life is cyclic. I see it has been months since I last wrote an entry to this journal, and I didn't seem to miss it, but now I want to take a few moments to review and update. Part of the reason I haven't felt the need to write is because the communication between slave and me is so good, I don't feel the need to use alternate means to give it insights into what I want from it. But upon reflection, while I don't need to use alternate communication methods, there is something to be gotten from using them anyway. Like using a mirror to look into a room through a doorway. The room looks entirely different because of the unaccustomed angle; well, writing down my thoughts, knowing it will read them at some point (and even the not knowing when it will read them) gives me an interesting new way to think about myself, it in relation to me, and all of the different aspects of our relationship. Very like the way an artist will invert a painting to break the every day way of seeing.

While its and my interactions have deepened and improved over time, the fact is I never have enough time or energy to devote to its training on a daily basis. I intend to begin altering my life requirements to free up set blocks of time every week (and not just on weekends) to devote to its development. I and it need more challenges, both physical and mental, to keep us at our peak.

In retrospect, and the more I take those memories out and examine them, the more the weekend takes on the aura of a dream. Did that really happen? Did I really do that to it?
