my kids finally got home yesterday........a great adventure for them

cancelled flights and dashed hopes for them..............they are STILL stuck in warsaw almost 24 hours after they should have got out.

for the last two months i have been going through a particularly hard time - probably the most difficult in my life (so far)
i have had to make some of the most difficult decisions ever; but i have done so
i havent been on as much over this period.
but some things are coming together and i think my descisions will be proven the correct ones.
this week for the first time in a while i have seen the light at the end of the tunnel - and i am 99% sure it isnt a train coming the other way - maybe things are starting to turn.
i will be on and off - and will catch up with those who matter most when i can

i love eating in the small local noodle shops here in hong kong. laminex tables, noise streaming from the open kitchen, the old men as waiters, slapping menus down on the table, being the only non-asian in the place, freshly stir fried beefo noodles being served, and look at the other people and wondering "what the fuck ARE they eating? whatpart or what animal is that?!"..... this is what the travel is about!

ok its update time again.............had my frist day in florida - got a wonderful 4 hjours sleep after the 30 hours travel and managed to wake on the dot of 7am, grrrrrr.
had a nice day - had a little look around, did a little shopping etc.
then went to the airport to rent a car, wanting todrive to miami tomorrow to have a look around (the ONLY people have told me to see is south beach). got to the rental counter and they asked for my licence, i reach into my bag to get it out, reach further, rummage around.......nothing.........nada........oh crap, i left my wallet in the taxi! argh!
so i have no licence to rent the car, no credit card to pay for it anyway, and no cash to pay for the taxi to get back to the hotel - whose the dumb tourist now, hey smart boy?!

ok............will someone please explain the attraction or relevance of "renaissance fairs" or "faires"? why would anyone want to be living or recreate the 17th century? if you really want that be prepared for a lifespan of 40 years - so half the people here would be dead already, rampant veneral disease (dare i ask about half the people on that score?), leprosy, rotten meat, bad food, no light after 6pm, cold, unwashed clothes and an inability to travel more than 5 miles a day - so unless there were a damn lot of these fairs, most people would have missed it anyway?

why does everybody go just a little mad the week before xmas? The traffic is worse, nothing gets done and all the bad customers come out of the woodwork! you tell them for the last three months NOT to leave it to the last minute.....so they dont......they leave it for the last 30 seconds.

i was browsing a proile and came accross one from a "Dom" complaining that the sub he was talking to was a fake, and he was warning everyone not to talk to her because of that.
to PROVE she was a fake he inserted a cut and paste of their emails/chats
they guy "claimed ownership" of her online and via chat (over about 3 days of one line emails i think)
THEN he complained that she didnt do everything he told her! hadnt given him her password to this site! Hadnt told him a date for her relocation!
The poor girl was 18 - i couldnt be bothered looking up how old he was (i think i may go back and check that).....
I think he about sums up what is wrong with some of the people here - she may be a fake........but he's an idiot!!

having hit the road, i got back last week - a few days overdue.
This time was taiwan, then to hong kong and ended up staying a week there but travelling to China every second day.
China
is a very interesting place - 1.3 billion people.........but its ok, 3
of them know how to drive a car! the others just seem to sit behind the
wheel, mystified as to how the whole things works.
But i dont
want to be mean....i shouldnt pick on their drivers.....why should i
when there are so many more pedestrians i could complain about - a six
lane major road - three lanes going north, three lanes going south. If
i wanted toride a bicycle laden with boxes south why shouldnt i do so in the middle of the road?!
and why not in the middle of the three lanes going north - that would
make sense wouldnt it?
