Each Dom/me has their own rules, guidelines and/or orders for His/Her submissive to follow or do, and each for a reason. Whether that reason is for safety, His/Her satisfaction or pleasure, or any of numerous reasons. Everything in a Dominant / submissive relationship has a purpose or goal. To not listen purposely is disobedient, to miss something by mistake is just that, a mistake. If a submissive does not listen carefully to all instructions (and clarify them if they are unclear), it can become very frustrating, cause a conflict (depending on the situation and it's contents) And can be a big safety risk. Last but not least, it's not allowing for the essential key of communication. Also, in my eyes, to not listen blocks my objective as a slave. My objective is to always please my Master. How can I please him without listening to all he is trying to get across to me, no matter what the subject is? Listening is the counterweight to communication, the point of communication is to have another person to receive it. So as you can probably tell, all these factors in a D/s relationship are linked together and are only successful when they work with one another. If you listen carefully, you allow for increased knowledge about your partner, your role, and your relationship within the lifestyle.
