Anyways. I don't have much stock in collarme.

I am also taken. I am not looking for anything other than friendly banter. No mistresses, no propositions, nothing else. I am incredibly lucky to have her.

Now the internet and social networking.

It's like a car wreck. The sweet anticipation when you reach the traffic jam, the frustration that your life is on hold for some unknown reason. Then you come across the scene and you can't look away. No matter how hard you try to ignore it, or how many times you tell yourself that it doesn't matter, and every. Single. Time, it captivates you.

The cacophony and chaos of twisted, mangled metal, the chaos of glass shards spewed in every direction....

Yup. That's collarme... and in fact, almost every free matchmaking "Social Networking" Site I have ever been to.

I do not hold much stock in all of this. The internet is diametrically opposed to quality control. Yes, the saying goes that a million monkeys with infinite time on typewriters will eventually rewrite the works of Shakespeare... but when that happens, who wades through all the crap? Yes, there are gems out there, but sometimes the cost outweighs the reward.

I am also a heterosexual male, and that affects traffic to my profile. I doubt I will get too many hits, save for the "I have lots of nude photos, but they are on another site. You have to join, but it's free! Then you can talk to me."

I could be wrong though. I often am. I am jaded, so I like being proven wrong. Please prove me wrong.

So. Why am I here? I said it before. Amusement. My girlfriend is on here, and the pick up lines she gets... well... in a word... Hilarious. And once or twice, she has spoken to a few people that have given me some good concepts to think about it.
